(All locations are in Montreal)

It all started at Video Illusion in Plaza Cote-Des-Neige.   That place is were my arcade "cherry" was popped so to speak.  Double Dragon, POW, Bad Dudes, Robocop.  It would be the go to place for me as a kid for gaming, and would continue into the Street Fighter buzz of high school and beyond.  Still exists to this day, and they have Time Crisis.... and I think that's it sadly....

Sammy's Restaurant - Restaurant, bar and nice free arcade with a lot of NES titles dumped in.  Burned down   Empty lot now.

Crickets (Pare Street) - Restaurant with tons of free arcades.  Out of business

Place Jack on Decarie.   The peak of the Street Fighter era, out of business

There was also one more arcade, really SPECIAL Cote-Des-Neige, somewhat on the corner of Cote-Saint-Catherine.    The building is now long gone and they rebuild a Blockbuster and Battle Net 24 over it.  But I remember during my early youth it having a Pacman chasing a cherry sign....... anyone remember the name and games?

St. Catherine & de la Montagne (North side - I believe where La Senza store is now)
Small place (two floors) that felt cosy in the dark evenings playing a machine in a corner.

St. Catherine & de la Montagne (South side - some clothes store there now)
Decent sized place (two floors) with plenty of games

One of these two was named Cristal Palace, that's where I bought my first pin: Flight 2000. $350.00

There was also a huge arcage on Plaza St-Hubert, near Jean-Talon.

And a smaller one at Complexe Desjardins in the basement. The machines were exceptionnaly well maintained and a little more exclusive: that's where I played Freefall, Hot Doggin, Quicksilver, etc.

I remember one right next to the movie theatres in the North York Sheridan Mall. Can't remember the name of the place. It had Defender, HS, F14, Gorf, Missle Command, Spy Hunter, Asteroids, Tempest, Qix to name a few. Actually a pretty full line up.

There was also a few games at the Bowlerama at Kipling and Rexdale.

Pretty sure the place at North York Sheridan was the Bijou (sp?) I remember that you had to be a 'member' member to get in .. there were alot of bowling alleys that had good game rooms .. in addition to Rexdale Bowl there was Plantation Bowl as well as Plantation Billards (probably at least a dozen pins between them maybe a few more than that). Brunswick Bowl at Dundas and Dixie had a handful of pins as well

I am comparably young (14), and i lived a BIG part of my life in Saudi Arabia (my dad was Saudi), since i was 6 i used to mass up any change i could find and pool it up with our friends and get our parents to drive us to Fun time pizza on olaya street, and each token was 3 SR (a little less than 1 CN dollar) for a token and all games were 1 token, we didn't have much time. Then in about 2005, the arcade boom bubble burst and a whole bunch of arcades popped up and they started using magnetic cards (Spoilt Sons of princes didn't care for the arcades and would vandalize the things by jamming tokens in every orifice) but often, the games were heavily over priced (1.75 dollars CDN for 1 game of the first time crisis) so my uncle helped us crack the cards and added 1 and a half riyals to every 3 riyal added to even it out.
anyways, the arcades are
Fun time pizza (olaya street Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
Al-hokair abcarino (takhasousy, Riyadh Saudi Arabia)
Al-hokair land (outskirts of Riyadh)
La ronde (i hope you know where this is found)
Pinochio (Sources)

some more from Ottawa....I don't think it's been mentioned but there was an arcade on Bank near Nepean roughly, almost beside the Microplay, had a skateboard shop on the second floor.

Carlingwood Mall had a Wizard's Castle (I think) with it's own door to the outside, Hazeldean Mall even had an arcade for a little while around '92 or so.

The Broken Cue on Hazeldean Road always had some good games.

When I was downtown I would often go to the bus station cause they would sometimes have some decent games, I remember putting quite a few quarters into GunForce there.

I'm from Sudbury, and we had a surprising number of arcades in town. The oldest one I remember was a place called the "Top Hat Arcade" on Elm Street. It closed in the late 80s, as the cops decided it was hangout for dealers and thugs. Which it mostly was, but it had some great machines.

I blew most of my change at a place called "Fun Villa" which was in the Supermall on Lasalle. It was beside a Famous Players 3 cinema setup in the mall, so it got tons of traffic from people going in an out of the movies. I pretty much paid for their AFM in 50c increments. The other big hangout was a storefront arcade called "The Games Room" which was beside an A&W across from Barrydowne. It was mostly fighters like Mortal Kombat and SFII, but they had a TAF I played alot.

The Northland Ferry terminal at Southbay Mouth on Manitoulan Island has a STTNG which has been there for at least 12 years. I don't know who maintains it, but it is always beautiful. Another "vacation machine" was a EM with a card theme that was worn down to splinters at a campground I went to with my friends when I was in high school. I can never remember the name, but it had likey been running on that spot since the 60's. It was pretty fun as well.
