I have my pins in my basement, and it's great. Getting them there isn't easy, since my basement stairs air barely wide enough to fit a pin, and there's a 180 degree turn halfway down. The way I get it down, is by using gravity. I put the back in first, then on the landing I tilt it vertical, then slide it over to the bottom steps and tilt it forward.

Here's the problem: How do I get them up the stairs? I probably should have thought about this first, but I let jonny_eh worry about it. And if I thought about it, I wouldn't have pins!

So, how do I do it? It seems like it requires the lifting of a pin while it's vertical, at least up a couple steps. Could I use a jack? If so, what kind? How much would it cost? Should I remove the backbox? I'd rather not since it's a WPC, but if I must, any tips other than labeling the connectors? Also, a dolly is a no go since there just isn't room for one.

Here are some pics.

Your stairs reminds me of Dino's house !

Almost broke my legs getting his TZ down... and i wont be there to take it up, sorry Dino

Honestly, i think you should take the head off. Remove some weight and makes it smaller to move too, you wont be sorry, an half hour job to label them all.

Good suggestion, the movers took my 3 games out of the basement in 5 minutes with straps (with heads off thou) and it seemed very easy ...

Take the head off, it's not that bad, I allways take the head off and my stairs are as bad as yours.  I can get a machine down and up with the head on but it is really hard to get it up.  Having the head off makes it a breeze, trust me after you do it once, you'll do it every time.

I've seen your stairs in person and I agree w/ others. Remove the head or you're in for a world of pain. Moving straps might be an option as well.

Good luck!
