You know those Canadian Tire special Appliance Dollys (well technically it's a hand truck) - they all have stair glides that look to be about the same size, and the v-belts on mine have worn out and the duct tape isn't holding any more (as those of you with black rubber marks on your ahem, hardwood stairs will attest). I have been measuring and racking my brain and Google trying to figure out what size V-belt they are, and the closest I can figure is that it's a 5V270 except that I don't think that exists as a standard stock item (i.e. 27" outside circumference, 5/8 width, 5/8 thick (or somewhere around there as my belts are probably worn, stretched etc.). If anyone else here has been through this hell finding a couple small but thick v-belts, I could sure use a hint. Dang it I'm ready to buy a whole new appliance hand truck just to get new belts. I'd like to do away with the ratchet style also, what a lame design (but I digress). I'm getting so desparate that I may have to try RGP Thanks in advance. |

Same boat as you. My belts are starting to break down and they now leave a black mark on the carpet each time I use the dolly. I use carpet cleaner to remove the mark.
I tried last year to find a replacement and had no luck. I removed the belt and went to auto shops thinking it would be similar to a fan belt. No luck.
Hope it works out for you and if it does, let me know.

I'm beginning to think that either a 5L270 (B24) or a 5L260 (B23) may be close... I even tried metric sizing but it's hard to get the width in such a short circumference.... |

I found replacements at cdn tire. I can try to find the size that I used. I kept the packaging just in case I needed them again. |
