If we are talking about flooring in reference to arcades, I still like the black light and appropriately coloured black and fluorescent carpet.

In high school in the early 80's a local arcade owner asked a friend and I to help him design his arcade. We scetched laminate cabinets/dividers, space age looking to enclose the upright cabinets. Imagine, covering all those cool graphics. Sacrelige!
