had to check the pictures of the cab. might have been my stash from my old machine. nope.....
i have found a couple different things in machines. my fav of course is old money. SBA dollars are a great find and i had a couple. found a small baggie of pot. lots of mice and rat poo if that counts and once a dry up little mouse. some hard thick plastic coin slot covers with different price listings. a stack of manuals for other machines and none for the machine that they were in.
A few things actually... quarters are always laying around in a cab. I once found a good 5 bucks worth in a Roadblasters cockpit. Other notables:
- cheap white Ray-Ban knock-off sunglasses in a NARC I got from Gory - A couple of 80s porn mags in a pin - rat mess in a Robotron - old fruit in a Stern vid cab (a repair guy probably couldn't find the garbage can during his break in 1983) - stuffed bear in a Bally Mystic - old pieces of paper with high scores and names on it inside some pins I get from the 70's and 80's

I've never found anything super interesting in a game I've bought. I've found NOS plastics, and other goodies, but nothing out of the ordinary. I almost found an NOS plastic set for a 1977 Bally Lost World. The game wasn't working and he was asking pretty close to market for it (meaning a fully working game). I looked inside to see if it was hacked. Doh! Inside was a nice NOS plastic set. The guy remained firm on his price and I left empty handed.
I know that someone else will eventually find a screwdriver bit from my swiss army knife that fell out while I was working on a machine and could never find it again!

oh yea. like others loads of quarters. a few slugs as well. but on one of my machine i can't rember which. i ended up with a few hundred very old tokens. they are here somewhere.
I guess he didn't find my oil can funny... he told me to cancel his account...
Seriously? Hey, Aljo! I'm mailing you a sense of humour.
I found a lot of quarters in a Sinistar. An Alfred E. Neuman "MAD Magazine" plastic ring in Junkyard, 3 dead mice in a Pole Position. A few tokens in various machines. That's all I can think of.

I found some funny looking clear caplets with a white powder in them. Didn't try them, who knows what that was! The guy I bought it from was pretty sketchy.

I just found 2 tokens, a couple redemption tickets and a repair ticket in the TMNT I bought off McMean. (Was getting sick of flipping the coin switch for credits, so I set the dip switches to 1 coin = 7 plays and 1 play = 5 lives so 35 lives per credit hehe)
Would have thought someone would have found them by now, the tickets were from an Arcade in Indiana, one of the tokens was from a Famous Player's "Tech Town" and I don't recall where the other token was from, it's still downstairs sitting on the CP.
Game also has a second unused iso transformer in it, not sure if it's any good.....but I'll find out.
You can't skip reading any threads on this forum, or else you may miss out on drama... precious drama.

i found a brass buda in my williams touchdown. (actually quite a nice little statue.) figured he was there for luck. (or to make sure the 18ft of bindery twine holding the flipper shaft inplace didn't break)
found some old gottlieb monthly newsletters also (tech tips etc) that was a nice surprize. a pinball guide to ownership (pinball owners assoc-british-1985) also a couple other 1970's books.
no stash though (or a big bag of sticks and twiggs) that must have been a rough year.
There was a cookies bag in the Time Warp i bought... and owner was surprised when he saw Sparky removing the glass so i think it was there for a while.

Oh yeah... I remember that... it was funny and scary at the same time to see him all bewildered to see how the glass came off. I did get that one other time before. I bought a Pacman pin from a guy who had it 16 years and never opened the glass. You can imagine how bad it was... I actually threw the cab in the trash because it stank so much...
Yup. You read right. I got a PM from him merely stating: Cancel my account.
OK.
So I did.
Weird. OK, who pushed ALJO over the edge??
I guess MAACA is proof that what doesn't kill your interest in the hobby makes you strong enough to survive MAACA.
Sometimes it gets like this: "OK. I am spending WAY too much time on this board." So I can understand removing oneself. It's like trying to quit smoking, you have to isolate yourself from all the old habits and haunts.
What I find here is that it's like a collective unconscious - we "type" things to each other that we'd never say in person. And when we get together in person, for the most part, we find out that each person is usually a terrific guy/gal, and not always like our online persona. Well, except for Adam.
I think we have to start remembering that it's not a competition to see who gets the most pinballs or the best deals. (Or whose the best player and who sucks - which I freely admit to.) If we help each other out, we'll all benefit in the end.
Pinball communism. Let's paint MAACA red!
.....
Whoa! Damn, I think I found a tangent in that Xenon cabinet because I just went way, way off on one. Maybe it's the naptha fumes.
Found a handfull of retro 60s silver quarters all jammed in the coin mech from that Pro-Football. I guess the machine had been pulled from and arcade early in its life and travelled from home to home for a while...

Hey, I means what I says and a says what I means, same thing goes for what I type
Look at it this way, if I haven't told you to f**k off yet I obviously don't mean it

Honestly who cares, I didn't see anything said by anyone that should have put anyone over the edge and if you are going to be that much of a child to take your ball a go home, then good ridance.
I got no time from Drama Queen's
Let's get back to what matters pinball!!
I've never found anything interesting in a pinball just the usual stuff. No fear was kinda interesting tho as it had so much crap in the bottom of it the entire bottom of the cabient was like 1/2 inch thick full of crap, old bulb boxes, plungers, fuses just tons of crap, dirty as hell.
Best thing I ever found as a silver pie spatula, in my Crossword. I've also found about $7 worth of quarters in the TMNT (sorry Cinder, I kept that), and a NOS 7 digit display glass for a Wms sys 7 (for sale if anyone wants it) in my Firepower. And a lot of dirt along the way, too.
I guess MAACA is proof that what doesn't kill your interest in the hobby makes you strong enough to survive MAACA.
Where have all the gladiators gone?
Hell I never even had chest hair until I started posting on here.
I find parts that belong to another machine a lot. If you wonder why parts are missing from your machine it's because dumb a** ops stick them in the bottom of other machines.
Maybe there is an analogy between MAACA membership and Darwinian evolution.

Man I found allot of things in cabs. I found a flash lite,50 bucks in cash in a galaga cab converted to Mortal Kombat. Nos plastic sets for other games then the one i got! One pinball machine had stern service manual for like 4 or 5 different sterns 80 era and the machine I got it from was not even that old. Purchased a pitfighter machine there was 2 other boards in it one being a rampage another being power driver. But the best one was working at Henrie amusement purchased a lot from allouette and they where all full of the cineplex tokens about 130$. Kind of cool never cost me a dime for arcades when i go to theater. Theirs more stuff but i forgot I have gotten very lucky.
Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.
I've never found anything interesting in any of my machines,
As for people cancelling their accounts and what not, i've been a chatter on the internet since BBS days, and nothing has changed, people act differently online then they do in real life, and people just have to stop being drama queens and taking everything so seriously,
this is the internet, no one gives a mess about who you are, or who you know, or what you have, everyone is equal on here, we're just a bunch of 0's and 1's and the thing about online chatting is there is no way to express your emotion when you are saying something, other then these stupid a** emoticons,
So what one person might say in a joking/funny way might be taken totally the opposite way by the person it was meant for.
So to end this rant, all i have to say is don't take things personally, don't have a hissy fit, don't quit the hobby, don't quit the boards.
GROW UP this is a dying industry, and we need as many people to keep this hobby alive as possible, so come on people, can't we all get along?????
Eric.

I, for myself, found a calculator and NOS cigarette stickers...that were once used on cigarette machines to advertize the different brands (Rothmans, Export'A', Craven 'A', ...)

I wouldn't go as far as saying we are just 1's and 0's. In my travels I have met in person almost all of the regulars on this forum, many of whom several times.
sorry, i didn't mean to say that the people are only 1's and 0's i meant that what we say on here is only 1's and 0's and should be taken as such and for people to not get so excited about everything,
I also have met a lot of people from here as well, and even managed to have some really nice people come over last summer for a CGCC bash, it was great.
I think i have seen you Necro at the playdium championship, but i didn't get a chance to meet you.
Bish - No, sorry man, i really like Ripley's, so it's not going anywhere anytime soon. and how are you suprised that i know what a BBS is? hell i ran one out of my parents basement when i was in grade 9 back in 1992
B1- what can i say, NO cyclone was my first machine, and shall stay with me till the day i die (and no this isn't an offer for you to kill me)
Carry on..
Eric

While I agree that people need a thicker skin, especially when it comes to light hearted jokes, we need to keep in mind that the people on the other end of the inter-tubes are flesh and blood people... with feelings. It's a thin line to walk. The only board I ever left was one where a guy made an anti-semetic comment. I notified the moderators, and it turned out the guy that made the comment was a moderator, and he didn't apologize. I didn't want to associate with people like that, so I left.
We each draw our own line. For ALJO the line was making fun of his use of oil/lube in his machines. He decided to leave, that was his choice.

One of my friend discovered after he purchased his first Guns & Roses, that the topper was NOS inside the machine on the back of the cab. It was there since the purchase of the machine...never installed!!
Can you believe it was brand new, nothing broke...! That's almost impossible, this pinball was going from place to place in location!!!

Well my spin on it all is this, we are grown adults and hopefully somewhat mature...fun is fun but some guys really need to get a life if there are PM'g all the time over stupid a** mess.
I have never read anything on here that I would deem that offensive. Maaca and cgcc are the only boards I read or post to regularly. I mean it takes a lot to offend or piss me off, even then I am adult about it.
There have been a few times that the word "Retard" as been used. I personally don't like that word. I have a daughter with Down Syndrome so yes I find it offensive...not worthy of blowing a nut over or quitting a forum. Most times I just ignore it, sometimes I voice my disdain for the word, why just the other day a member was over playing some pin at my house and he called my pin retarded, he instantly apologized and I know he was sorry. I understand it's only a word; many people use it for different things......and life certainly goes on.
I know I am far from a perfect angel but I usually try and say whats on my mind, and I am not a "keyboard tough guy" I f I say it I mean it.
Which funny enough brings me back to you Eric ... ahh nevermind no use even starting a "battle of wits" with an unarmed man
Not sure what the point of this was.... So peeps grow up and grab a set get on with pin and life; which brings up another point....there IS more to life than just pin

Gotta laugh, I ran my first comic book BBS and later a Dial Your Match BBS outta my bedroom in the very early 1980's, I do remember an Emtrol Lynx modem and TRS-80 and some other platforms! And long before that I wrote a mainframe dating program that did the matching for our Highschool graduation... on punch cards, before monitors became mainstream (who else printed out Mona Lisa in ASCII Art on a DECwriter?).
I aint that young there Bish, i'll be 30 in april, born in 1979...

Since he replied with and having had a look at another thread where a member apologized for to him, I think Sparky's post had nothing to do with him leaving.
I think a lot of people are assuming "thin skin" too much. We've no idea what was said and although I wouldn't quit a forum or anything over written text (well, maybe if the board is run by people who constantly abuse their power), I understand others think differently than I do. I just hope whatever happened, there's peace in the end for him and concerned parties.

my brother and his friend bought sinclair 80's and built them at home. was on early 80's playing ad&d on bbs. didn't really know what was going on about being online and such. yes i was a pothead then as well. my brother and his friend did loads of computer stuff. i just played the games. they had most of the early models. loads of great games but i didn't learn zilch about computers.

That's the first time I think I've burst out laughing reading a post. My 10 year old asked me what was so funny. Needless to say I made something up
