The only down side to going the route the Church has is they are subjected to run events all the time to fund the venture. In the end this has had an impact on the serviceability of machines. It's been about a year since I was there, but the last time I was there it was hit or miss with games working correctly. Update, most games were working quite well this visit.
Maybe I am just fussy.
I was thinking of starting a real Church for pinball. You know, for tax purposes.
I can't find enough time to get into my basement to work on/play my machines, let alone driving somewhere else to do it.
That's exactly what I was thinking but was keeping quiet to not ruin the fantasy for other...
I've been offered to do house calls and get paid to fix machines and just don't have the time (except for Jim of course!)
I just repaired a sys 11 board for a MAACA member but I hesitated before jumping into it because of the time issue.. Wish I didn't have to work!

(quote) ... as for the western Ontario chapter, there is already a clubhouse... Adam's basement!
Not any more. I was evicted to make room for off-season sports equipment & my wife's new treadmill. I'm now stuck in a tiny 8x11 cell next to the family room. Oh sure I have a full size window and the ceiling tiles are all in place but I can now only fit in 3 pins. Hmmm... Maybe a clubhouse would be a good idea... Or better yet, a huge kick-a** tree-fort like the Ewoks had on the forest moon of Endor; complete with a drawbridge and lookout tower! Anybody know what kind of permits I'd need for one of those.

Another Inane post brought to you by the good people of ACME Corp... Purveyors of the all-purpose Thread Killer.
Ok, everyone buy a 6/49 ticket. This weeks draw is for $25million. If any MAACA member wins they have to soak $250k+ into a pinball venture. WooHoo. Maybe the pinball Gods will smile on us. After all don't they use balls in a drum for 6/49. Co-incidence?? All hail the mighty SilverBall (seeing as we are kinda on the church theme here).
Oh well, gotta go, my wife is on the way to kick me off MAACa and make me work.

250 grand??? That's it? I was looking into 1.5M myself, considering erecting a new building with all the trimmings, the cubevan with a quadcab for deliveries and pickups (loaded to the gills with all the options of course, for those long roadtrips...), and just about every game I can get my hands on. I would make Jim look like a newbie!!!
