So you would not have bought from him if you knew? Did he shaft you in any way?
I'll say it again ... nobody here has reported getting the shaft from this guy. It's just a situation where you need to see the machine before you commit to buying it.
Correction... I have 6 reports of members getting shafted when dealing with him through Ebay and/or Kijiji... they just rather keep quiet about it and move on. If you go directly, you might just notice that the product isn't as described, and leave, therefore not much shafting going on.

I was contacted directly by one of his victims and have heard from other potential victims who took a pass or whose friends got shafted (though I haven't dealt with him personally, so yes it's here say). He seems to be all over the map, no one likes the way he advertises to acquire machines and when he's found out his ads get shut down.
The reports of his scams in radio equipment are hard to ignore, and his postings on certain forums (before being banned) speak volumes.
He seems to do some legit deals just to stay in business, and seems to scam when it's a long distance deal.
He has definitely been caught by MAACA members plageurizing copywritten pictures before to hawk his wares (though lately all the pics seem to come from the same unfiinished basement).
So you have to ask yourself, are you being greedy or "smart" by patronizing this guy? I have gone back and forth considering making a purchase a couple times, in some cases the prices are downright good because the competition is less, but in the end I could care less what he has to sell, it makes more sense to me to boycott and buy from people I respect (I won't buy from anyone who raises their asking price, nor from anyone who pits one committed buyer against another in an "Amazing Race" to make a cash payment either).
And yes, I should stop giving this guy the attention he craves (if in fact it is Mr. Anderson).

I asked this same question a month ago and only one person responded that they did business with him and mentioned no complaints.
I guess I'm just bitter because I passed on a good deal for a working upright Star Wars vid (my most coveted machine) because of the reports I read about him here. A CGCC member sucked it up, went to check it out and walked away with the machine for a very, very reasonable price. If anything I feel these "Mr. Anderson" reports screwed me.

Kinda stupid to feel that way but I do.
Hey Mike,
If you read all the Anderson reports carefully, MANY have repeated the same thing... go see for yourself before comitting to anything. THAT is the problem with Ebay. Once you make a bid and win, that's game over for you. But if you go, you have the choice of buying or turning away, no harm done. This guy is a notorious Ebay and Classified ad scammer. He preys on people that cannot necessarily go see the machine.
His modus operandi is very simple. Keep on posting a machine for sale. At some point, someone will make a leap of faith and send a payment for the machine without seeing it. He gets the money, and dissappears for a little while. He then re-registers again under another name and puts the same machine again for sale. This can happen MANY times before someone actually comes over and buys ther machine directly. So technically, he might have sold that Star Wars vid 6 times over before the other guy went directly and bought it. THAT is what he does. And he gets away with it almost every time. He has done some jail time but most law enforcement don't deal with these kind of cases, as for them, it is your word against Anderson's, because there is no mention anywhere in his ads that identify the ad to a specific machine, like a serial number. He can say that you came over to pick up the machine, and the cops can't do much.
As for the members that didn't fess up when they had the chance, would you admit to getting screwed by this guy through Mr.Pinball and Ebay even with all the warnings out there? Most will just complain to the site authorities, like me, or Daina Pettit from Mr.Pinball or Ebay's or Kijiji's fraud unit, but other than that, no one will admit to it. Same as the Nigerian checks. Some peop^le in the US have lost a crapload on those scams... look up on RGP to see if anyone has openly admitted to losing thousands because of that...
