Thanks Dr. S. Took a look at it and as you had said the other day, it looks as though the Frame Motor is the problem, however I can't see why.
Does your (or anyone else's) frame unit have the connections labeled? Apart from the obvious colouring, the yellows, oranges and browns all look the same.
Here is a diagram of what I have in the start position, the wire colours are what I guess as correct.
Based on the bit of the schematic I've included in the picture, it looks like the BR - O should be connected to the O at frame 1, i.e. startup. I show an open circuit here (bold connectors in the picture). Jumping these wires (as we tried before) does allow for the game select to work.
Can someone with a machine, please verify that the fingers in the starting position (i.e. after coin added, and you can use the game select). Mine are as in the diagram, with the longest finger on the right pointing directly out of the machine. If however I rotate the fingers one position counter clockwise, I get the short circuit between BR-O and O.
Just checked mine and after starting a game it should step up to be 1 position up(CCW) from your diagram. Check the contacts on the start relay or the player reset relay, The step up coil on the frame unit has the G-R and B-W wires on it. You can trace the G-R wire back to the start relay and the player reset relay contacts. 1 of these contacts is probably misaligned or dirty. Somehow you need to get the frame unit to step up 1 position from the zero position which your diagram shows when a game is started.
I've also went over to Mr.Mikeman's place to take a look at his, which helped a lot as I didn't see your post before then. Once I clued into that it went smoother. At least that clears up the question of the schematics in terms of the '1' value in the Frame Select Disc for the Game Select.
Mr.Mikeman also graciously lent me his schematics to copy, I've just finished scanning/stitching them together if someone wants a softcopy. It's not the greatest job, but it's readable. If anyone wants it let me know and I can send it to you once I get it to a manageable size, the raw .tif is 1.3GB.
