It's my understanding that the coin door lockout coil on Gottlieb System 80 machines is a A-16890 coil with ~231 ohms resistance.

Here's my questions:
- Is the lockout coil on System 80 machines in fact a A-16890?
- Is the resistance of this coil actually 231 ohms (or thereabouts)?
- If the answer to the first two questions is 'yes', what is the width of the coil from end to end? Is it about 7/8 of an inch?

I'm looking to use the coil for a modification in another game, but I need to ensure it meets certain specifications before I start looking for one. If you have a coin door with this coil still attached, please let me know! Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi cooke

Working from memory, the coin door coil on my old Volcano was 7/8 of an inch (and in a red/orange wrapper?) gmaranda has it now, and I know it's listed in the schematics that I gave him. Maybe PM him.

Thanks for the info/lead. I'm most interested in the width measurement more than anything.

All three of my 80s are the same; ~ 7/8". I don't know about the resistance. Let me know if you want more pics.

Fantastic! Thanks for the pic, Kevin. Is it the same width the other way -- from top to bottom (plastic to plastic)?

And does anyone have a Gottlieb system 80 lockout (A-16890) that they'd like to sell me? I mean, what do you really need it for?
