Congrats Stan.....What are the issues?  TAF I find is one of the easy ones to shop out.

Easy??!! Hate to find out what you think is hard.

4 flippers, 5 pop bumpers, Bookcase, Thing and all the other crap inbetween.  I find it one of my more time consuming games to shop, if you do it right.

Are you telling me your TZ is any easier? TZ is one pin I hate shopping out, DM is another.

Did you not send your playfield out for clearcoating? Sure, that is a lot of extra work, to remove and then re-install the playfield and harness. I have done two AF's and both were uneventful and relatively simple.

No TZ is not getting CC, but I allways remove everything including the Pop Bumpers from the playfield when doing a shop job.

Right now I wouldn't say TZ is that horrible a shop job, it's been pretty smooth at this point.  not a ton of plastics, everything was pretty easy to remove, pop bumpers were in a nice clear area so easy to get at, same with the flippers.  Mini-playfield was easy to remove and easy to disasemble.

With TAF because it's not a wide body, everything is really cluttered under the PF I found, it has allot more plastics to deal with, POP bumpers are very crowded making it even harder to work on.

I'd say on a difficulty scale they are about the same.

easiest game I've shoped thus far I think would be T2.

I also find my Wh20 is easy to shop as well.

I'm not looking forward to doing ST:TNG that's next after No Fear.

No fear looks like it will be a really easy shop job, ST:TNG looks like it is going to be the worst machine I've ever had to shop.

Good catch Hardkor,

I found a tatty one in Edmonton at the weekend, finally got the vendor on the phone yesterday and they told me they were not selling any of their pinballs at the moment. They said as there was only one manufacturer of pinballs left and they were holding all there old stock until the pinball industry sorted itself out. I guess they are hoping it goes belly up and they can get more money for the machines.

Its a shame it just sits in the arcade not getting much use and people play pool next to it so they (accidently) hit it with cues and put drinks on it.

Yup you would be right on that one

DM is a pain mostly because of the ramps ... you want to get at something, chances are you have to remove the wireform ramps. They come off easy .. but putting them back in is another story.
