The first time I received  an email  saying they have money I can have if i do this  or that, I took it to the bank to get their opinion and the manager came to see me directly to investigate. She called the RCMP and they said it was a scam and to forward the email to them.

If ever any of you receive an email promising all kinds of money from people you don't know. Forward it with complete header information to the RCMP ........

I don't mean to be pessimistic, but has anyone ever heard of a Nigerian (or other) ever being prosecuted for fraud?

That's what I mean.  Reporting phishing and scam emails from nigerians seems like a big waste of time, and anyone niave enough to get caught up in such a scam is either living under a rock or simply greedy and pretty much deserves what they get.  Harsh, but its MHO

Our police forces need to be encouraged to spend our tax dollars stopping scammers and thieves right here in our backyard.

I am still hoping to get myself a Nigerian check to frame on my wall one of these days... but I haven't received such an email in over a year. Maybe I should post a bogus ad on Mr.Pinball to go fishing... ... nah... that would suck for Daina Pettit.
