I have played it only a little, absolutely stunning game, but I found it a bit repetitive. Is it me or does every mode ask you to "shoot for the golden symbols"?

For me, this seems to be my problem. Yes, most WPC games have great modes and rule sets, but at the bottom of it all, there are few shots to make... I proved my point at a meeting at Necro's place. I was playing with RAT (hey Richard!) and I told him I would literally kick his a** and get a replay by merely shooting for the castle over and over. It got too easy to get a replay then. Oh sure... I didn't complete all the modes, but a high score is still what you aim for in the end...

On pinside top 100 totan is #8 up than sttng #11 cirqus voltaire#10 and after lotr #7 if I compare with lotr ,the only I know totan must be very funny but repetitif?

Don't look too closely at the rankings.

According to IPDB today, the highest rated SS games are:

#1       Twilight Zone    (Bally,1993)
#2      Star Trek: The Next Generation   (Williams,1993)
#3      Cirqus Voltaire   (Bally,1997)
#4      Medieval Madness   (Williams,1997)
#5      Laser War   (Data East Pinball, Incorporated,1987)
#6      Whirlwind   (Williams,1990)
#7      Creature from the Black Lagoon   (Bally,1992)
#8      Tales of the Arabian Nights   (Williams,1996)
#9      Centaur   (Bally,1981)
#10      Fathom   (Bally,1981)

Anyone got a Laser War for sale, cheap?  I want to get in on the action before the price hits $5,000.

How many on this list are considered true A list titles? 3?

This whole A list, B list stuff is all subjective, relative and tiring.  The best advice is to try to go out and find one to play.

ps.  If you want another list, try http://www.treasure-cove.net/TOP50.htm

TOTAN is not funny..  Very little humour.

This is of importance... because hearing the same jokes over and over is really amusing....

Time to update the signature!!

Can't help noticing you have sold of most of your collection and replaced them with a strong Williams influence.  Welcome to the club.

Interesting, I have a beauty LW (well it's slowly getting beautiful again).  But it's not going anywhere quick. And a WCS94...  Maybe we should just trade collections?
..
LOTR seems repetitive to me, perhaps it's a theme thing.  TOTAN is a good one.

Popular pinballs that I once hated... Theatre of Magic, Twilight Zone, Funhouse ...each has started to grow on me as I play them more at OPH's.  Maybe because I wasn't any good at them, who knows.  I'd like Whitewater too, if it wasn't for the music.

Lists are lists - like radio stations top 10/100 - depends on your tastes to a great deal - from theme, to type on pin (dmd, ss, em), to your gameroom/family needs...

I use the lists as a guide for how easily it will be to re-sell if it turns out I don't like it.   I just bought a TZ - I've maybe played 10 games on TZ - but still am not attracted to it - albeit I could never hear the audio - and only recently knew where the piano was.    My wife loved the TZ series - the pins highly rated and I got a good price - so an easy decision... ...I'm sure if I can't find what everyone else finds in TZ I can get what I paid fairly quickly.

I'm not sure you can say the same about TOTAN  - but I think there's a lot of collectors attracted to it...   ...I've never played it - so have no opinion really...

Tuborg beat me too it.  Its all subjective.  I have this feeling that you are not a Michael Jackson fan but I bet he has sold more albums than Iron Maiden.  Which one do you prefer?

The lists seem to be made up of mostly 90's games, with a few older SS games that have had playfields reproduced.  Coincidence?

I use these lists as a rough guide.  Chances are you will like a Top 10 pin, but there are exceptions.  I still have not warmed up to AFM...but people rave about it.  Same with TZ.  Its in my top 3 games of all time, but some people can't stand it.

I am not sure that would go over at your house to well.  Right now you are overflowing with games... you would have to build a few more storage sheds.
