I decided to play a few games on my fatthom late at night and turned the volume right down . Since then , no more sound . When i turn the rheostat up and down , i get a humming sound true the speaker . Does this eliminate the rheostat as the problem ? I don ' t think i have an extra one on hand anyway . Any suggestion what to look for ?

Il semble bien que le pot de volume soit ''bloquer'' d'une facon ou d'une autre. Il s'est peut-être brisé a l'intérieur. Avec la rouille et la corrosion c'est une pièce qui fait soubent défault. |

Chances are that the rheostat and speaker are fine, providing the hum level
changes when you turn the volume control.
Issue is often with the squawk & talk board - could be bad electrolytic caps,
or a bad amp chip. Or, often a cold solder joint at the header pins on that board.

I fkinda figured it wouldn ' t be the rheostat , since the humming sound goes up and down . Hope fully , co;d solders ' s the problem . If not , i ' ll have to shop for parts ...  Thank you guys for the advise . I ' ll check it out out later tonight . Claude |

les pots sur le board de son son tres sensibles et parfois je perds le son de medusa...mais juste une pitchinette sur les pots du sound board et ca revient.... |

J ' ai fais le swap et toujours pas de son . Aussi , y avait quelques pins suspectes . J ' ai refais les soudures et toujours pas de son ...
Juste pour aidé a éclaicrir ce prob je mettrais le sound board de Fathom dans Centaur pour voir si il fonctionne vraiment. Si oui on sais alors que c'est extérieur au sound board. Peut-être un connecteur, les soudures sur le pot de volume, le speaker débranché etc .... |
