Well, after all the pin moving i did in the last week, i have been able to validate that my stairs arent that bad at all !!

After delivering the BSD to JVegas et helping Dino get his TZ in the basement, i can say mines are a piece of cake !

The last addition proved me that there was nothing i couldnt fit in there (except vids cabinets). Thx to MrHide for his great help, my Star Trek:The Next Generation is now sitting next to the other 2   What a heavy b**** !

Not sure what will be next, but IJ and TZ can have their chance now

Spring cleanup is finished, last week was a crazy pins moving week. Lineup for the summer is complete and will likely not change for a while (i have been saying that for 2 years while no pins have yet stayed 1 year, BSD beeing the winner with 10 months !).

A happy Az..

Honestly Sylvain, I don`t think it gets any worst than my staircase and TZ.  I had half the trouble bringing JM down with my father than that overweight TZ.  From now on, head comes off on widebodies!!
Enjoy that STTNG, really a fun game and on my top 5.  Looking forward to trying it.
TZ is all set up and working 100%.  Needs a clean up and new balls.  Will probably replace the rubbers too...
Playing LOTR at medvets again convinced me that it should be in the top three best machines ever.  My personnal number 1...  Stern has come a long way and the flippers are more than fine.  Don`t know why RGPers constantly bash the stern flippers.  After hours of continuous play, making the ring shot was no problem.

PS. my back is still hurting...

I feel your pain having moved TZ, IJ, and ST:TNG up and down stairs. But I tell you, they are nothing compared to Banzai Run. The game is heavy AND wide -- think of that upper playfield, it's very deep even when folded. I had a hell of a time moving that game with another person. Big and heavy, not a good combination when moving pins up or down stairs.

The most surprising pin was Safe Cracker. The game is extremely heavy. You wouldn't think it if you saw one in person. It is quite small, but it has a TON of metal parts. I think it is actually heavier than IJ. It was a real bugger moving it to the guy that bought it from me. He had a tight turn at the bottom of the stairs and I think we had to lift and turn it. Of course, we couldn't use the dolly -- which I now use at my house at all times, in the old days we used to just carry them down, but I'm done with that. Ouch that was a move. At least I got to play his MM when I was done

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying your new line up. All great games! I really enjoyed the Transporter when it was at Medvet's. A very unusual game and very challenging.

Congrats!

That Safecracker was pretty horrendous to move.

I moved a few months ago, after moving 6 pins up a set of stairs at the old house, and then down a set of stairs and the new house, it's safe to say that I will never move again.

SC was probably the worst, with TZ a close second.  After moving those monsters, the rest were a breeze (or least I kept telling myself that to keep going )

Roadshow is the same weight as STTNG and the same size..  Tartagliag has shitty stairs too.  You can't use a dolly.  the stairs turn 90 deg halfway and you have to put the machine down on 1 step, turn it 90 deg, and then lift it again to go down the rest of the way.  But there's no room for a pin AND a guy in that corner..  It was hell...

...thus the reason I added a 'feature' when I was house hunting a few years ago:

- Ability to move pins to the basement easily...no 90-degree stairs...

ask anyone who's helped me bring a pin in or out of my house...

BTW, Judge Dredd is another heavy sucker...

As the guy that helped move your JD into the basement, I agree 100%. Simplest move I have ever done. Just wheel in and go straight down.

For those with difficult stairs, the best games to move are the early Williams SS (Gorgar, Black Knight, etc.) as the head comes off easily. Then you are left with two relatively light pieces to move. I love those games for that

My stairs aren't that bad. I have to turn at the top and then it's straight down, so I can attached a dolly after the turn and before going down. With most games, widebodies included, it's a breeze to use the dolly, but with Banzai Run it's too wide to turn so the dolly couldn't be used. In fact, I think we had to lift it from a stand still to get it turned as there was no room from the stairs to the wall. I shake at the thought of ever moving that game again...

Come on Duane, head comes off easily on all WPC/DE as well ! Just takes 30-40 minutes to label and disconnect Then you have a way easier move to do...

Of course this isnt for the lazy ones, but can save your back. Got to remove head on mines to get them in, it is now normal for me, as easy as 1-2-3 ! It has its advantage too, you can locate bad connector/boords problem right from the start

Sylvain, who has an "unplugged" ST:TNG sitting in the basement right now, yesterday was rainy so boards got a little wet hheh
