Interesting, the woman on the backglass looks like the chick on the Barracora backglass with her tentacles sliced off. The Barracora woman was copied from the style of the Swiss artist HR Geiger, very popular in the early 80's. There is an actual painting he did that is about 80% Barracora girl.

I dont want anyone to cut my tentacles!
Pfft! Bally was WAY more guilty of plagiarizing Giger's work than Williams. Check out Centaur, Embryon and the most obvious one.. Space Invaders (though to be fair, Space Invaders was to be an Alien pin before the license was pulled). There are more, but those are the worst culprits for sure.
Own Magic, Star Gazer, Batman Forever, STTNG, Mystery Castle (project)
Gone Fairy, Secret Service, Meteor x3, Title Fight, Eight Ball Deluxe, Bone Busters Inc., Seawitch, Starship Troopers, Strange Science, Arena, Hook, Pin*Bot x2, Time Warp, Motordome, Robocop, Black hole, Jurassic Park , Wipe-Out, Pinball Pro: Challenger I, Swords of Fury, Stargate, Party Zone

I agree. Barracora I would say is loosely based on Giger's style. You are probably comparing to the one I posted below. I owned a bunch of repro Giger prints a few years ago and NEVER did he have colors like on Barracora. Colors were always black, white, shades of grey and brown and some red. SELDOM did he ever have anyone smile.
Barracora has a somewhat similar style but not even close to beign as sombre as Giger's work...

There is a Geiger painting " Lil ' that is almost EXACTLY like Barracora! Unable to search, cut and paste from work. However this is not just a mimick of his style, it is a copy!
And, apparently the woman who modeled for it thought it was ugly and tore the original in half. Apparently there wwre 30 or so lithos made of it.
I have a Centaur, and the face of the motorcycle beast is a likness of Geiger himself! The colours are obviously Geigeresque too. That was Paul Faris' way of doing a tribute.
Look up Lil , Brock, and you will see what I mean.

Actually it's Li I, but I know what you mean. It's not an exact copy, but definitely a clear rip-off.
It's doubtful that the model destroyed the original though, Giger used to airbrush on huge (ie. 4' x 6') pieces of particle board.
*edit* According to Wikipedia, you're (sorta) right! also Li was his wife.. very interesting
I can see that with Centaur, Giger's not a pretty man...

Actually, the face in Barracora is Brooke Shields.
As for rip-offs, there are plenty. Wizard! (unlicenced) is straight out of the Who's Tommy. Space Invaders is as close to Giger as you can get. Even Faris' Andromeda could fall into a Giger inspired category. Some are even worse and are clear rip-offs like Viza's War, who blatantly used Frank Frazetta's Berzerker painting as their playfield art. And most of Sega's and Stern's pins technically rip off poster art for their machines. Albeit licenced, but copied nonetheless.
Most often, artists do it as an hommage to another artist that inspired them.
