Just blew mine out last spring, I also had an 88 5.0 when I was 18
I kind of want it back! Put a new motor in it, shipped from Texas.

I also have a mustang, it's a 94 Mustang GT, haven't had it out of the garage in 2 years.
It's still pretty much mint, just 90 000km on it.

I was watching this just waiting......

Nice F#@*#@# car.... absolutely awesome

But man, drive it like you own it!

I didn't want to put any evidence of breaking the law on youtube.

If it were on a track things would have been a little different.

It's straight and metal. Always have issues though that can be worked on. Seals get dry over the winter and I need a complete set of window felts. Just ongoing crap really with owning any car let alone owning one for this long. It gets the attention it needs over time. I do drive it, just like my pinballs, people do play them. I am confident enough with fixing things that if I f' it up I will fix it anyway.

Ragtops are nice, but on this model you need the fastback. They actually called it a flatback for the three years of production. The most rediculous rear windshield. Most sloped fastback I have ever seen. You can't see mess and the blindspots are massive, but it looks fantastic. I have to always gas it and go ahead on lane changes, since checking your blind spot with a head turn is pretty much useless.

I love Mustangs, buddy of mine had a beautiful white 70 boss 302, sold it for 1000 in 1989
I passed up a 1969 Mach 1, with the motor rebuilt( but out of it), back in 1992 for 1500$, kicking myself in the a$$ for that one, also almost bought a 66 289, 4 spd, running for 2500$ a few years ago, but was driving my 2000 at the time.

I recently had an opportunity to buy a nice black 1971 datsun 240 z with a nice body kit, triple webers for 1000$, I like those cars as well, have had quite a few Z cars including a 74 260 Z and two 81 280 zx's. It was in the shed where I store some games out east, but guy turned out to be a mental case, and we had a falling out. Too bad

What's a shame now is kids today can't afford this stuff. I was 16 running around in this car, and my buddies had Cudas, Challengers,  a Super Bee, Mustangs (Boss 302, Mach1 and a mighty Boss 429 to name a few), a BB Chevelle, an El Camino, 442, Camaro's, an AMX and pretty much everything else in the musclecar spectrum. Now with the cost of anything fun and the price of insurance it's impossible unless dad is Bill Gates. I heard they even ding these kids extra if thier car is just plain red.

I bought my first car toy when I was 15.  20 years later I still own it but its been under cover for 10 years since I met my wife and the vid/pin hobby took over.  Now it needs a complete overhaul again but it was a fun toy.  I used to be able to do some decent wheelies on the inclines going into parking lots like McDonalds with the rear mounted VW engine and no weight in the front.  My dad talked me into getting it back then because he grew up with a Bug.  He then aught me all the donut, e-brake and drifting tricks in the fields before I even hit the road.  I will NEVER sell it.  Then when I was 17 I bought a 79 TA with T-tops and a 6.6L 403bbl.  MAN now that was fun in high school.  The cops did not like me, that is for damn sure!

Yes, and the saddest thing is that the whiney tone of a honda( will always be a family car to me) has replaced the roar and rumble of a muscle car.Something about the shaking, sort of uncomfortable ride , and the feeling that the car might not be that well made and fall apart at the seams, appeals to me, but maybe Im just a section 8.

Actually my car is pretty big and comfy inside for an average sized person. Great car on the highway with the exception of the 3.91 gears that rev the hell out of it.

I want one..  Seriously....  But I want to bring it back from the dead..  Anybody know where I can get a 60/70's muscle car in need of TLC?

Mike

Project? Go south I would say. Anything left in a field up here is a can of rust in most cases. You might find a car that someone half assed made into a drag car that has all the right elements for a good price and bring it back to original up here though.

Try the want ads, Hemmings or places like this.

I would recommend checking how well the car is supported for aftermarket parts before choosing a model to restore. My car was brutal to get parts for up until recently re-manufactered parts started showing up for it. They had tons of stuff for 65 to 70 but not much after that for years. Look at places like Year One to see what you can get. You don't want to be trying to hunt bone yards for old parts anymore unless it's one that specifically deals in certain cars (they do exist). Otherwise Epay also seems to have a lot of parts but stuff that needs to be perfect you need it repro'd as NOS is pretty much non-existant anymore.

You in fact can build cars from scratch if you have enough coin. Take a busted up donor and build a new car from it. It ain't cheap but if the car has the right numbers it can be worth it.

Yeah when you don't live for the immediate moment and actually realize some of your actions may have consequences down the road.
