Hey, all

few problems with Title Fight that I never noticed before.  I always thought something was up with the upper left playfield (the mini-playfield), but couldn't figure it out 'till I finally installed PinMAME just now.  The problem is that when you knock down the 5 targets, they're supposed to come back up again, but they don't.   Not until the ball drops to the kicker, or the  mini-game times out.. any thoughts?

Sounds like at least one of the drop target is not registering/scoring when it is down,
thus the machine does not know when they are all down to reset them during ball in play.

Check the drop target switches, adjust and clean if necessary, using a business card
(and not sand paper) to clean.

Alternatively, is this an option that can be set in the set-up menu (e.g. do not reset drops
if all down, except at the start of a new ball) ?

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Awesome, thanks Sylvain

That seemed to fix 4 of the 5 targets, but the 5th one on the right just doesn't seem to want to register.  I cleaned it with a business card and some rubbing alcohol, but still no go.

Then you've ether got a bad switch contact, a broken wire or a bad connector.... or worse...... a switch matrix issue!

If you've got a DMM and the schematics it shouldn't take too long to locate the problem.

alright,

I tried cleaning it, reseatting all the chips and connectors, and even manually shorting it with a screw driver.. same deal.  4 work, the one on the far right doesn't.

looks like I'm going to PBR for the manual.  argh

(and learning how to read a schematic!!)

Make sure that the switch matrix connectors/pins on the MPU are not corroded or broken...

Any other switch(es) not responding on your machine ?
(check via switch test diagnostic).

Cheers,
- Sylvain.
