Anyone know what model this monitor is?  I'm pretty sure it's a WG but I have no idea what one!

Thanks,

It looks very similar to a K4900, but it's not the same.  Is there no model information on the label next to the right side of the chassis as viewed from the back? Can you shoot a pic that shows the screen and focus controls on the flyback?

Ya I found that too. Very similar, but not the same. No idea what it is. Went through all the books I had and it didn't show up. Stickers on the chassis say it is a WG, but no idea which one.

A good global shot of the monitor would help though.

Hmm, strange looking variation.
Not even Bob's page shows it:
http://www.homearcade.org/BBBB/monitor.html

Maybe the chassis or mounting frame was just swapped with another monitor at one point in its life.

Just curious as to what do you need to know the model # for?
Do you just need to get a CAP Kit for it?
Just read all the Capacitor values straight from the CAPs.

Good luck.

Yipes, that is an really rare unit.
Even Google or rgvac/rgvam searches will lead to no useful info except that it might be very similar (electronics/CAPs) to a 4900 series one.

Hmm, that's one I've never run across before. I know the K5500 is a Med res 25" monitor based on the K4915, but that still doesn't match up.

If you need a manual for that monitor, try contacting WG directly. I've spoken their tech support person on the phone before and was surprised how chipper and willing to help she was. She ultimately e-mailed me the manual I needed 'cuz I couldn't find it anywhwere.

Wow, I'll say like everyone else, that is a rare one. Never heard of it. No wonder we couldn't find anything on it.

I will try looking again to see if I can find anything on it. Other than that, best thing will probably be to just get another chassis or complete monitor which would probably be easier than trying to fix such a rare monitor.

I'm with cooke on this one. A few times I've been stumped trying to repair one of their newer monitors, the guys in the WG tech department have been very willing to help.

Same thing happened to me... I need some tech advice on the outputs and with fast and friendly service, I was e-mailed everything I needed from WG.

Well, I fired an email to WG... here's the response... looks like I'm sol.

=============================================
HI MIKE.

THE MONITOR THAT YOU ARE ASKING ABOUT WAS JUST AN INTERMEDIATE MONITOR WE USED FOR A SHORT TIME. IT WAS USED PRIOR TO OUR K7000 SERIES. WE HAVE NO DOCUMENTATION  ON IT.I MYSELF HAVE BEEN HERE OVER THIRTY-FIVE YEARS, AND I CAN’T REALLY REMEMBER MUCH ABOUT THAT MODEL. SO WHAT YOU HAVE IS A REEAL COLLECTORS ITEM. SORRY I CAN’T BE OF ANY HELP TO YOU.

JOHN

Mike, what is the problem with the monitor?
Do you just need CAP kit? (read the values on the CAPs and Grauwolf or other can sell you some CAPs).

It's missing some caps so getting all the cap ratings is going to be hard!

I would put out a wanted post on the newsgroups, someone has to have a copy of the schematics kicking around somewhere.

l o l, never heard someone say that about a monitor chassis before.

Probably better to just change it with a more common chassis. For even if you do a cap job to it and still have problems, you probably won't be able to fix it, as there are no schematics/manuals to help you out.

If WG says they have nothing on it, I highly doubt that anyone else would have the schematics/manuals for it.

I just went through a website with pretty much every single monitor manual/schematic on it (including all the revisions) and they had nothing on it.

But is worth a try I guess.

Try asking over at BYOAC.  There are few smart people who hang around there.

You would be very surprised what some collectors and ops have stashed away in their back rooms.  Someone is bound to have one.

Talk to Ken Leyton over at BYAOC, if he can't point you in the right direction, then you might be totally mess outta luck.

Guys, I wish Mike luck on the post on RGVAC but note that in all the history of posts (via Google/old DejaNews), there was only one mention on the 19K5401 (Appolo - a Vids collector I know) and his had a broken neck PCB so it was scrapped.
I really doubt you will find anything.
If the previous owner removed the CAPs, then the monitor chassis was probably already dead.
