I was just at Joyopolis last week!  I found myself more interested in the vintage arcade across the hallway.  It was mostly full of weird stuff from the 70s and 80s - even some pins, which are a novelty to see on location anywhere, let alone in Japan.

Did the arcade tour in Ahkibara.. only had time to do 5 complexes (ie six stories each, maybe 40-50 games per floor), there must have been another six or so but the games remain pretty much the same.

the retro arcade was a tribute to 1999: ferrari f335, daytona runner 2, outrigger,etc.. did it ever make me feel old that they consider 1999 and not '82 the year to pay tribute to.

found a barely working Sopranos pin, so somebody still cares/remembers when pins were on those floors during their youths.

it was frightening to watch the kids do their tournament rehersal on some of the games: almost like watching robots. i'm still puzzled by the Quiz Academy phenomena. if it were in english it be a cool way to kill some time, but to watch the tournaments when they are all playing against each other (in groups of ten or more) that is what school is for:  not an arcade
