I had seen this listing, and noticed that the machine to the left of the pictured Flash Gordon is different in two pics: one is a Playboy, other is a Fathom...
Strange... Would definitely want to travel to check the machine before bidding.

Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
I never saw that. The reason I think it's "our friend" is because of the use of all capital letters in his advertisement, and the fact that there is a Mata Hari to the right of the game, which he was trying to sell forever..
maybe wade from hotslots can help us find out? he was the one that left the neg feedback on ebay for this seller....im sure they know each others from their feedbacks...

I'd say it fits Mr. Anderson's MO pretty closely http://www.xmission.com/~daina/blacklist.html Same type style, same use of language, oddities about the pictures and description, and to top it off some trade in Radios. Guess he's not living in a Puslinch trailer park after all, or is he? The war of words with Tagney (Wade Domet of hotslots.ca) is interesting - I'll bet they know each other as each has been around the pinball/coin-op/antique scene for quite some time. Wade is not one to take ANY bullshit.
If anyone on this board wins it, I'd be happy to help them with pick-up of the game, but don't count on me seeing it in person OR checking it out for you in advance. There are usually some issues why you can't see them in person.

We are confirming that fairtrade_ca dealt with Wade (Tagney) as you pointed out. I have dealt with Wade as well. No nonsense kind of guy, an eccentric. I would gladly deal with him again.
Beware guys... The pics given are not of 1 but 2 different machines. As stated by Sylvain, the machine is once beside a Playboy, then beside a Fathom... but look VERY closely... the drop targets are not the same from one pic to the next. On the playfield closeup, the first multiplier target is a white one with the ''explosion'' on it. On another, it is a black target with a monster head on it (can't seem to remember from what machine that is...).
I wouldn't touch that auction with a ten-foot pole.
Sorry, Crazy, I mis-understood your post. I thought that you thought it was Wade, I missed Web-Sherpa's post! I guess I have to read other posts before I reply to the one right above my reply...ha.ha.
Anyway, I'd agree with Sparky ( which is why I started this thread in the first place ), looks kinda - well - shady. As I've also mentioned before, if you can see the game in person, there is no reason why you shouldn't buy it if you want it. I know Gorydeath, for one, has had no trouble with who I think this seller is.
That's the trick - can you see it before you buy it - and is it THE game in the photo OR is it a picture of another game that's been sold before...
I may be eccentric, or I may not. Man. You guys collect a lot of junk! Be careful, thats how I got started in this business, in 1968. YIKES! Maybe should have put all that energy into brain surgery or something important like that. Just for your info, the first games I ever bought were, Kings and Queens, and Central Park. I installed them at the Sattelite drive inn, in Clarkson just east of Southdown road. The building is still there. I paid 325 and 350 for them and they were the only pinballs around on location and I filed out the .10 cent slots so a quarter would pass through. The games took in almost 300 a week for years. That is also the building and the two machines that started Ontario Hydro inspections and those large isolation transformers being installed in the games. Sorry about that. If I didnt have a 2 prong extension cord coming from the basement through the floor up an out side window and across a ceiling and down the other side, we may never have had the transfomer issues and the inspctions. Thats the orange stickers for hydro that you see on the games today. Gee sorry about that. .

OK so is this what you meen by eccentric.
Have fun Wade
So why exactly did Ontario Hydro want isolation transformers in pinballs?
So why exactly did Ontario Hydro want isolation transformers in pinballs?
To protect the players and users against accidental electrocution, when: - an electrical fault would be present in the game, and - when the ground prong is cut or not used on the AC supply.
By adding an additional hydro isolation transformer in pinball machines at the time, it removes the above electrocution risk (from the outside metal parts of the machine), even if no ground prong is there on the AC plug.
Taken from Wikipedia, under 'Isolation transformer': 'isolation transformer is a 1:1 power transformer which is used as a safety precaution. Since the neutral wire of an outlet is directly connected to ground, grounded objects near the device under test (desk, lamp, concrete floor, oscilloscope ground lead, etc.) may be at a hazardous potential difference with respect to that device. By using an isolation transformer, the bonding is eliminated, and the shock hazard is entirely contained within the device.'
Cheers, - Sylvain.

I could crack a joke and say that only Ontarians are crazy enough to cut the ground prong off... but then again, most machines in Quebec have the same problem. Difference I guess is that our government doesn't care if we zap ourselves.
By the way, this Flash Gordon eBay listing has been removed a while ago...

My T2 is missing the grounding prong, should I worry? It was imported from Alabama, so doesn't have an isolation transformer.

You should definitely replace the power cord. Not sure about T2 but the WPC games at my place use a standard modular cord like on most computer equipment.
Playable Now: Centaur II, Doctor Who, High Speed. Playable Soon: Breakshot, Sorcerer Later: Flash, Genie, Seawitch Fondly remembered: Firepower

Yes, you should replace the plug at minimum with one that has a ground prong (or replace the complete cord as a few like to do), for your safety, as well as for properly grounding of the electronics.
I believe a grounding note/warning might be in the game manual.
Cheers, - Sylvain.

Rona / Home Depot sell replacement prongs. Kinda expensive $6 or so, but a simple repair. Take your time finding a nice one - some are ugly round ones. Some look alot like the original plug (just a harder plastic with a screw head)...
...then test for continuity from lock-down bar to the ground prong as a simple check that other stuff along the way hasn't been comprimised betweent the cord and the box...
I would like to nominate Tuborg for what I think is the most anal comment I've ever seen related to pinball "restoration" !! HAHA !!
SERIOUSLY MAN!! THAT IS FUNNY !!
Ah-huh.... ah-huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh... dude... you said "anal".
Yeah... actually, that is a compliment, I believe! You just gotta love a guy who takes pride in attention to detail! I could just see Tuborg travelling in time back to 1979, enter a pinball factory, and start berating the factory engineers and workers for using ugly plugs...
The whole reason I sold my Mars Trek was because of its ugly round plug.

Most of the replacement plugs are ugly and way over priced. You can get sensible ones at at a place like "Queensway electric" or Wolf, werever an electrician buys his materials.
Ya thats what the isolation transformers were supposed to do as Sylvan said. But Ontario was the only place in the world that this went on. Ground plugs should be used, always, without one I have measured over 50 volts on the crash bar. With the new electronic games, new! Hell they been out now for 31 years, maybe I am eccentric, anyways the newer electronics should have or do have isolation right from the factory.
Also the ebayer fairtrade_ca is no longer a member, and my one negative feedback out of 329 has been restored to 100% again cause he got kicked off. When they would not answer my emails after making a purchase, and because of the location that was around Hamilton, I actually accused Him of being Mark or whatever the name of the day is.
