I need to know the size of a Gate, it #69 in the Upper Playfield parts in the Manual, on Page #2-36 and 2-37. Part # is A-19002. If someone happens to know what it is supposed to look like, or happens to have a spare, or happens to have a spare... Marco has it listed, but out of stock, I never saw it anywhere else. http://www.marcospecialties.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=A%2D19002&eq=&Tp=That is the link to Marco's Item. Also, Is this gate wire supposed to be longer on one side than the other? (See Pic) Mine looks like this... Thanks, Dave

Yup, your picture looks like the correct gate. It blocks the ball from entering the 'vanish' hole's exit path and sits with the short end of the gate towards the top of the PF. When installed, it doesn't hang straight down but is angled so that it only opens when the ball is kicked out of the vanish hole, thus the wire 'hook' on the right hand side of your picture (to prevent it from opening the wrong way). |

So... If I straighten this bent gate, it will be right? I kind of thought it was to low or something, I wonder if the ball coming out of the Vanish hole hits the top of the gate and bent it over time? I must go have a closer look. When I took it apart, one side had a big nut as a spacer, so I think something in there is wrong. Thanks for the info! Dave |

Hey Necro, Did you take a Pic when you had it apart? I don't think it is to easy to get at with the ramps and Tiger Saw installed. If you have it, I would love to see it!! Man, this game is Filthy!! Yuck!! Is cleaning up nice though, so that is good!! |

Hey Dave
I've got 2 pictures of the gate showing what's attached at each end from a shop job. I can fire off to you via email tonight later. I have to downsize them as big files.

I just had a look. The top chrome bracket has no bend in it. It is straight across so yours somehow got a big wow in it that isn't supposed to be there. As for the orientation, the lower end of the wire is to the left (opposite of shooter side) of the machine when facing the machine.
Take the bend out of the chrome piece and mount it with the flap allowing the ball to pass from the eject side of the hole only and you should be good. i.e. the ball cannot enter from the upper part of the pf going down. |

Hey Necro, That is how I figured it went, Now I just need to figure out why it got that bend in it, and how it got all the nicks in it. Maybe the Op I got it from figured it wasn't working the way it was, so he bent it? Who knows. Are the Posts it mounts on regular star posts? Looks like it is on the Ball guide on one side and a double ring post on the other? Is that right?
Dave (Thanks again!!) |

Yeah, left side mounts to the steel ball guide with no post, right is a double ring star post with no rubber. |
