Ok, I will admit that this is the second Starburst Auction I have ever been to (the first being at the Pinball Tourney last year)..... But mainly to do other side deals....
I have to say, it was the most pathetic auction I have ever witnessed!!!! Other then meeting a bunch of cool Maaca Guys... and doing some deals, the auction itself was a complete waste of time for anyone JUST going for the auction...
A couple broken pinball machine. a few outdated MegaTouches, some CD jukeboxes, and a bunck of broken redemtion machines....
The only thing worth looking at was the SouthPark Pin, Spring Break PIN, and the Austin Powers Pin, but they were not in great shape, and the starting bid on these were about $1050 each?????
Don't waste your time if anyone is interested in going.... perhaps this was an off day?
Opinions?????
Thanks.
PS: I was a pleasure meeting Poolman, GoryDeath, Highspeed, and Vengeance.....!!!! See you agian.
It was a bad auction but lots of maaca guy's there, took a whole load of stuff. THERE WAS MORE DEALS IN THE PARKING LOT THAN THE AUCTION. Had a great time and also stopped by THE CHURCH OF THE SILVER BALL. GREAT talking to all the guy's and swappin stuff.
AFM TOTAN INDIANA JONES FT ES NGG CHEXX BUBBLE HOCKEY CATACOMB STAR POOL also a collection of CRAP that is always getting bigger
I don't know how long Len is going to let us keep doing this? The action is truly in the parking lot anymore. He mentioned something about moving pins out of his lot once the auction began. Fortunately I believe the lot next door isn't his but what is turning up for pins at auction was very limited and seems to be the way things are going. Most pins that are half decent seem to make it to the back of the showroom to be "shopped" and sold for retail.
I wish for everyone's sake including Len's, there was more available, but the stuff just doesn't seem to be out there anymore in terms of the operators from what I can see.
It was a HUGE turnout of MAACA/CGCC people. More than I have seen at an auction in a long time.

If it wasn't for the swap, i don't think i'd go as much as i do. I also don't think it would help them in any way if they tried to put an end to it. Hell, we'd just park a couple lots over .

It seems that everyone went more for meeting members than buying auction items. If you want to make a swapmeet... just do one! All you need is a place to do it. Too bad GJD's museum isn't open yet.

That is probably the Southpark I was thinking of buying......sounds like it was a good thing I didnt
A listing of my current games can be found in the Gameroom section(Updated June 20,2010)
On the note of getting together as a result of everyone meeting due to MAACA and the other websites.....
I'd just like to say to whomever started these chat/calssified websites (Sparky? I thank you, and I think we all thank you for creating a form that like hobbied persons can meet.
If anyone else needs to be congratulated, here's the oppertunity.... I just recently became a member of Maaca (about a year or so ago), so I don't know the background, but if you know someone who deserves a thank you... please mentionthem here.
PS: after meeting you all, it does seem a little more like a community to me, rather then a bunch of aliases that converse.
I kept my eyes open for Monkeybug, seeing as though he's one of only two folks from here that I've met.
I picked up a machine in a parking lot deal and bought some parts from the store. I perused the auction offerings, but the budget was shot after the parking lot.
The Dr Who was in the worst shape of the pinballs, but it had about 6-7 guys busily playing it. Could that have been the crew from here?
