100+ another 30% off. That's getting more in line with what they should be selling for.
These must be without a rectifier in the base for DC application for this price. Should be fine for inserts but I wouldn't be using them on GI.
They said the opposite on the site, perfect for Gi and BG but not for insert... like leds fir the inserts

It would be interesting to sort out from someone who has installed them which are better and for what purpose. I am still waiting for a sample from noFlix in EU as well. But I thought someone had said that the pinballlife leds were't as good as others? Or are they all the same (apart from different intensities and angle, etc.)?

I think you can use LEDs for AC and DC. From my experience the only limitation is that they dont work for old EM's. Also, for GI lighting that has a dimming function as this is achieved by pulsing the current and it is visable with the LED's.
Some people who have a lot of machines (Glen) might not remember which ones dim, I just run the diagnostics/lamps/dimmer and then go to town.
On WPC GI is A/C going straight into the triacs AFIAK (WPC 95 for awhile initially put diodes in but I believe this is the only exception). Add to this the pulsing 1 to 8 times per cycle for illumination levels, I can't imagine a one led bulb is going to work very well without strobing like crazy, especially at the dimmer settings.
Inserts are DC and would be more appropriate for LED application theoretically. They don't dim and they don't have to deal with A/C cycle.
The only way I can see LED's being good for A/C is they are either two reverse parallel leds or they have a bridge rectifier in them but at this price I doubt the BR is in as it adds about 12 cents to the cost of each bulb.
At low voltage i.e. 6.3 for GI the voltage is reduced with a resistor to Vf Max of somewhere around 2.5V depending on colour. Vr is 5V for a typical led therefore the LED would be able to operate as a diode and block reverse voltage at these low voltage levels.
I suspect the complaints about strobing GI are the fact that although they illuminate they do so pulsing which to me is unacceptible. I would have to reverse engineer one to see what they are selling but quite frankly if my assumptions are true I doubt very much I would be "recommending" such an LED for GI application in a WPC.
