Before anyone gets excited, I've been told this game is not for sale!  Too bad, it's definately a keeper.

I went down to Hamilton on Tuesday to check out an HH for someone I bumped into on the net.  She's a student, and she bought the game from the original owner in Alberta this summer.

Playfields show normal wear for a game of it's age, no mylar, backglass 9.5, and it boots.  I looked it over to find out what the basic issues were to make it playable, and it really doesn't need alot.  Both upkickers are dead, one is seized, the other coil is dead but the K relay fires.  One of the 12V for the sound is probably dead, and there are a few niggly ground problems.  Some of the score displays are missng digits but other than that it's pretty much good to go once the rubbers have been replaced and the playfield cleaned.

I opened the back box and couldn't believe my eyes.  The battery is still installed, not leaking, still working, and not a hint of corrosion!  I'll be pulling that asap before bad things do happen, and the self test doesn't indicate any problems.  All the serial numbers match, and the cabinet is in nice shape.

Here's the choker, she paid...........100CAD for it!

I've worked out a deal to fix all the small problems for her, but all the mods will have to wait until she can afford it.  She's going to clean the playfields and put some peel and stick mylar over the damaged parts.

Anyhow, I was so blown away I just had to share it with those who know!

Oh yeah, she knows, she tried to stay calm, but when I told her what it was worth, it was obvious she was pretty happy.  I offered her the option of selling it in the condition it was in, and then using the money to buy something else fully shopped, and putting the balance in her pocket, but she really likes it and wants to keep it and some day do a full restoration.  I also told her that since all the bulletproofing won't be done, and the fact that 25 year old IC's tend to fail now and then that even once we've got it all running right, there are no guarantee's as to how long before something else fails.

The machine is in really good shape though, so with just a bit of work it may work well for some time to come.

I told her that in the condition it was in she would have no trouble getting 1200US and if she bided her time probably more.  Hell the backglass alone would likely fetch 300US on ebay!  It's nearly perfect  (tiny bit of flaking in the bottom corner)

Some may disagree, but seeing what happened for the one I bought (900US) on ebay, it's probably about right
