Hi Forum,
My husband ordered a stupid blitz arcade machine on line and it came in and the video doesn't work.  The sound works just fine..  I dont know anything about repairs, but I think it must be the video tube from what I am reading.

I would like to know if someone out there could help fix this,

Also is it possible to take these things apart to move to another room ( it doesnt fit down the stairs)

Please help..  My husband got this, and I want to smash it with a sledge hammer..

I assume it's an NFL Blitz game..  The control panel(where the joysticks/buttons are) can be removed but that's it.  If you need to disassemble it more then yes you'll need a sledgehammer or chainsaw.  If you need help it would be better if you told us where where you're at!  I assume Montreal (the 514 in your name).

Before paying someone to show up at your place I'd open the back panel and make sure all the connections are tight and there are no loose wires.  Just look.  There should be at least 2 plugs/sets of wires attached to the monitor - 1 for power and 1 for image.  Unplug the machine first and don't touch anything (monitors have lethal voltages in it even when unplugged).

If your certain it worked before it was shipped as was stated it could be as simple a problem as a connection. If it got rough handled there could be problems with the neck board at the back of the picture tube being loose or even damage to the tube back there.

Just to echo what has already been said but needs to be stressed. The voltages at the back of that monitor are LETHAL! Even unplugged a charge will be on that area long after the power is taken away.

You may find a manual here which is a good start should you not have one.

http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/ARCADE/

Also if this is the machine your speaking of there is a troubleshoot video section here on pages 6-8 to 6-10

Where are you located? I am sure a member can come and see what can be done. As stated, it could be something simple.

Yes. The members here are accustomed to being electrocuted.

All kidding aside might be the best option, The guys on here are very helpful when it come to things like this. Put away the baseball bat. It's probably not as bad as it seems.
