As requested since I posted the pic with the mining truck, here's a pic of where that exact truck operates... It started with a lake 30 feet deep that they drained and started taking out the ore for iron and gold... the hole is now 850 feet deep, and takes the truck 25 minutes to get all the way up at 12 Km/H when loaded... I took this pic as close as I dared to go to the edge...

My title at work has changed a few times over the last few years at the electronics distributor I work for here in Toronto.
Started out as a Tech. Field Sales Rep. 9 years ago, but as of the 1st of 2005 it changed to C.I.O. (Chief Information Officer). In reality I think it should be J.O.A.T. though (Jack Of All Trades) as I'm still doing Tech. Field Sales and a bunch of other odd jobs as well. Damn customer base just refuses to call the Rep we hired to replace me on the road!
The cool thing about my job and the effect it has on my hobby is I have access to a large netework of electronics parts suppliers so I usually get the majority of my pin/vid parts for free. Just yesterday I got a box full of 30 bridge rectifiers from one of my suppliers as spares for my pins, and the best part was they didn't cost me a penny. (they even picked up the cost of shipping)
Needless to say, I do my own PCB repairs as well becasue I was fortunate enough to grow up in an contract electronics manufacturing company (my Dad owned it). It comes in VERY handy as I'm able to keep my stuff as well as help others in the hobby keep their stuff running. (most of the time)
Did I mention that my gameroom is actually located in what should be our dining room? The benefit of buying a new house that is larger than your old place, and not having enough furniture to fill it. The deal I have with my wife is by the time we buy real dining room furniture the basement will be finished, so the games will eventually get a proper resting place. Until then it sure is handy having them on the main floor!
Mechanical Engineer. I do R&D for one of the major automotive parts suppliers. I took on this hobby initially so I could self-learn electronics since I was using them so much in my designs. The rest in history...
I thought I would resurrect this old thread since some like to put in names and faces to the nicknames... I re-edited my first entry... if others care to write in this thread and introduce yourselves, by all means, do!
Im a computer tech by trade. The company I worked for went under 2 years ago and now im doing locates for enbridge and bell. Still fixing computers on the side but right now this job I have is stable and they give me a car, laptop and cell phone so I cant complain too much. I miss working on computers though. I actually loved my previous job and am not so fond of this current one but it pays the bills. And although noone really put their names in this thread I will. Im Terry... nice to meet you
Nuts & Bolts ... Not that i work with it ... It ' s more like , in 2001 , i fell off my house ' s roof head first on a sidewalk ! It sure stripped a few Nuts & Bolts in there ! So , since then , i ' m Mr. mom ...

I work for Wellington Printworks (www.wpworks.com). I run the graphic, prepress and IT departments and have done so for almost 12 years now... so if you ever need anything printed, I'm yer man.
If you live in Toronto, or have been to a Home Depot in the US, then you've probably seen some of my design and prepress handiwork at some point.
The name's Brock, originally from London, ON but I've lived pretty much everywhere in Southern Ontario at some point. Currently residing in Brampton with my beautiful wife Nichole.
Spare time (if any) is devoted to sculpting, casting and painting new pinball parts (oh ya, I'm also a self-proclaimed arteest), and spending my evenings with my wife and stupid dog.

I repair guitars for a living (not half as cool as it sounds) and have been a game freak since the atari 2600 came out. Had a mame machine a few years back, but sold it when my wife and i moved into a condo. Now that we are in a house again, Pinball addiction is kicking in!
Spend most of my time with my wife and dog, currently renoing my basement so i may actually play pinball this winter, instead of complaining about the chilly basement!

My name is Warren and I too am in the 12 step pinball addiction program. Umm...Oops.
Anyway, I live in Thornhill, which is a nice suburb directly north of Toronto city limits. My family consists of my wife and I, our 2 year old son and my 11 year old daughter from my first marriage, who is with us part time.
Just started with pins last November and really only knew about the old EM's from years past. Have now moved up to 90's SS machines and it has been a great diversion these past few months.
I am in sales, dealing with prefabricated building systems during the day.
I'm Alan and I spend most of my days trying to explain why it's not the network that is causing the slowdown. Every so often there actually is something wrong with the network, on those rare occasions I get to fix it.
I bought an EM pin many years ago at a garage sale and have been working on them ever since.
owner of a tattoo shop. i haven't tattooed in around 20yrs. but i have been piercing around 17yrs. tattooing is in my family's history. great uncle started tattooing in 1890 and he is kind of famous. he was counted back in day as one of the worlds most tattooed man. sailor joe simmons was my great uncle and he also was the man to start sailor jerry into the industry. sailor jerry is more famous (you should try his rum).
I write, produce and distribute pornographic movies.
I am big down south.

Over ten years ago I used to live in France, work in the mechanical industry (helping design industrial gearboxes), and play pinball.
Now I live in Newfoundland, I am a software developer, and I miss playing pinball.
I am married, with one five year old son. On my spare time I sometimes write computer games (I released a few puzzle games for PalmOS a few years ago, and I have a long going pet project on the Atari ST).
I *was* a Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprentice up until 5 months ago, now I am just an unemployed bum (yet again). I'm counting the days until the economy improves and I get called back to work.

Other than polar bears I guess. I have done some fishing in total seclusion for arctic char up in the high arctic. Never strayed far from my trusty shotgun though. 1 in the barrel and 4 in the stock. First 3 are 3 shot last two are slugs. 1 for the bear and the last for yourself if all that doesn't work.

My name is Dave Astill , i have been heavily involved with pins since bringing home a bally playboy in 1993 . I have 2 kids and just celebrated my 20 year anniversary . I live in Collingwood Ontario and invite anyone who is skiing in the area to stop in for a few games. I sell real estate , or at least try to , and have a dj business as well.
I am surprized I had not already posted on this tread... My name is Sylvain, and I am addicted to pinball machines
I am an engineer, still working at Nortel in Product Verification (fiber optic transmission/reception equipment incl. DWDM & others). Mostly software-related, but we do provide some input to hardware designers too. Making sure the products will meet various standards requirements, quality, and customer requirements & expectations. Fun, but often long hours and pressure. ...With all that is occuring with Nortel lately, I am unsure how much longer I'll be there !!
With regards to pinball machines, I bought my first EM project (a 1968 Williams Daffie) in 1982. It's been 27 years of fun repairing and collecting 100s of machines since then, during my limited spare time after work and family!
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

Sailor Jerry rum is really good. I have (half) a bottle at home right now.
I have been restoring PINS for about 3 years now. Started with EM, moved up to SS, now at DMD. I also enjoy good arcade games and rare EM machines.
My ambition to to create the best and most diverse gamesroom I can, so that all my family and friends can enjoy it. Even if they don't care for pinball.
Name's Alex and I'm presently employed with the federal gov. as a graphic designer (a title I use quite loosely in a template-based environment).
Past jobs include bellman, server, daycare teacher, tour guide in Peru and Bolivia, owner/operator of a clown and entertainment company, ESL teacher in Korea and the list goes on.
I have recently started a screen printing company with a partner so guess who hopes to do the next MAACA batch of shirts?!!

I'm a manager of an industrial engineering department. If I'm not playing pins, you can usually find me training for triathlons (with my brit spaniel helping me keep pace!).
My love of pins started back in late '70's/early '80's at a camp ground where we spent summers - Mata Hari, Strikes and Spares, Paragon, Phoenix. Bought first pin in late '90's, but sold it quick and didn't get back until this year.

As for me - Married, no kids, 2 dogs, own a food company. Deal with 20 countries around the world and am positive I will buy a container of pins from Europe or South America some day. Who's in? Restoring pins is my escape from some stresses of life. Wife thinks I am nuts. She's not far off. Want a crazy and revolting fact, Tyson foods is the largest chicken company in North America. They kill approx 35 million chickens per week. (yes per week)

I am a pecetarian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pescetarian) and it's information like this that brings me alot of comfort with my decision 25 years ago to never eat meat again.
As for who I am and what I do I am a 39 yr old PECETARIAN who has owned an indie record store since 1997 http://www.speedcityrecords.com . I have a record collection the size of a whale chalk full of obscure early Punk and powerpop. Reggae, Rock, Soul ,Rockabilly, Jazz and weird mixed throughout as well. I also collect punk rock 8-track tapes and ofcourse Pinball machines.
Escaping the system meant joining the system on my own terms and owning my own business. It's as tough as it is rewarding.
Married with No Kids .
On the weekends I like drinking beer , listening to records and playing pinball. I know that might be hard for some of you to beleive. If you like you are all welcome to join me sometime........I'll even buy the first case.
