My home isp went out of business officially today after 48 hours of downtime. Bell pulled their lines and our dsl line cards got pulled (yay!).

So i am right now shopping for a new one and will be unable to go online from home until then. So if you are looking for me or sent me an email or pm, it might take some time to get an answer, i do check from work only now.

My maaca email is still good and should be used if you want to contact me.

This is a sucky situation for sure.

R.I.P. iStop.com, their website is still online but they closed the customers dsl service (actually been closed by Bell)

actually, service is back up... i was minutes away from switching to bell.

then i discovered Bell got nasty (they pulled all the dsl subscriber lines; even though they know istop costumers were migrating to cybersurf ),,,

first i was upset with having to wait 1-5 business days to be reconnected...
Even if i switched to bell, i'd have to wait 1-5 days....  but cybersurf won't change the istop pricing.

then magically, dsl came back at 1pm..

so bell can still kiss my ***. i've been paying $40 for what bell used to charge $200 a month 4 years ago and now want $90 a month)..

sadly i fear for the worst with cybersurf (because they are 3web people) but
at least i am rolling again and will be better prepared if i lose my IP addresses.

I switched to Radioactif myself, same pricing as iStop, no traffic limit, no contract.

Bell can f*** o** for sure, after the "first 6 months pricing" the bill jumps to like 45$...

actually, i spoke too soon.  bell renuked all the dsl-lines sometime saturday morning. istop/cybersurf was kind enough to offer dial up while reconnection happens.

interesting enough (if you read the forums on dslreports.com) bell canada went out of their way (forced people to work overtime on Canada day to purposely drop all the istop dsl lines instead of working on the backlog of activating new bell customers. i don't know who stinks more (don lancaster or bell) but until i find a place offering /28 subnet for only $10 a month ontop of the base $30 a month fee, i ain't switching and can only root for istop to still be around.

Yeah Bell has been pissing off customers more than Ralph, i'm sure as heck NOBODY will do the switch to Bell at all, at least i hope.

I got a new isp in a matter of hours when that happen, there was no need to get the dsl cards pulled. I am still down by the way, its taking foerever, very good timing on the first of july when thousands of people are moving and needs reconnecting
