STEVE RITCHIE’S ROBOTRON 2084 UPRIGHT ARCADE VIDEO GAME.

This is the best and only way to experience Robotron!  The game was a
massive arcade hit, and the game play is so fast and furious that it
is still a great challenge, even today.  View pics here:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/clt/1049357193.html

Designed and created for Williams by Vid Kidz, my friends Eugene
Jarvis and Larry DeMar created this one-off version of code that shows
my wife’s name Dianna for the Mommies, My name (Steve) for the
Daddies, my son’s name Chris as the Mikeys, and my daughter’s name is
listed on the High Score Table as “Maggie’s Favorites”.

Larry, Eugene and I have collaborated many times on coin-op games.
The three of us have worked together on lots of great Atari and
Williams/Bally/Midway games like Airborne Avenger, Superman,
Firepower, Black Knight, High Speed, F-14 Tomcat and Defender.  They
put together this version of code for me as a Christmas present for my
wife.  It has been in our family and in our houses since 1987.  The
actual game play code is identical to any other Robotron 2084.

The joysticks are gripped so hard by most players that it is important
to have a 250 lb. cabinet to keep the game stable!  No other
configuration to play Robotron has ever been more satisfying.

This game has been kept indoors for all of its life and the controls
and control panel are in excellent condition.  It is not HUO, but was
only operated commercially for about 3 years.  The game has been
electronically “overhauled” to make sure that it lasts another 25
years or more, with cleaned connectors and re-soldered connections.
The printed circuit boards are robust and clean.

The game is bullet-proof with no play glitches or “funny stuff”.  The
monitor still displays bright, vivid, crystal-clear colors and
images.  The audio is beautiful, loud, and clear.  The marquee glass
is still stunning when lit.  The control panel is in shockingly great
shape.

I rate the game as follows:

On Screen Video Quality – 10
Cabinet Front-                       9
Control Panel-                       9
Joystick and Buttons-          10
Front Glass                       9
Marquee-                          9.5
Cabinet Sides-                    7
Back-                             8
Electronic Stability-           10

The cabinet sides are not great.  There is some plywood de-lamination
chips at the bottom of the cabinet, the largest of which extends about
4“ up from the floor.  There are black marks and small chips on both
sides, but the integrity of the cabinet is strong and firm.

Robotron is a great family game that never gets old.  All other
computer versions are nothing compared to playing the original arcade
version, simply because the two joysticks are firmly mounted in a
strong cabinet.  Also includes all original manuals, and some spare
pricing stickers.  Email for more, better pictures.

Cool !

...but I'd be in the Dog house forever.

As for the game modifications,
I can't imaging that would be too hard to change.
(...a simple ASCII hex search would probably find
the names pretty quickly... )

Still, kinda neat,,,,
