So my wife is out with kids for the weekend so i had nothing to do today.
JD3 came to pick me up as we decided to go on the hunt for some location pins to play.
First stop, Pinocchio at corner Langelier and Jean-Talon. They have a RFM there and we went to drop a few tokens in it. Unfortunately, a few tokes only it was

The screen or videocard is/are broken so only the red and green shades are showing. No color mix at all and we couldnt see anything. Also 60% of the playfield lights are burned. We played a few games still just for the hell of it and the ball ended out trapped inside a rubber (i assume there should have been a plastic there on top of that area.. broken ? No doubt.).
Then the mandatory Mira stop... they sold a lot of games over hollyday season (surprisingly). They had a Medusa in the showroom so i turned it on to see what the fuss is all about Phil..

Anyway, the red transparent flippers have been replaced with normal Bally white flippers... the middle ball saver was made of wood ? lol, looked like a cheap fix

Playfield was not too good, cab neither but the backglass was nice and game was playing. Asking price : 975$..
Other games they had: Roller Coaster Tycoon, South Park, Twister, DrWho and a trashed playfield Captain Fantastic for 1700$ if you feel like it
Oh, i asked the guy why Medusa didnt had its original flippers etc.. and he started to tell us how it was impossible to find/buy pinball parts anymore. JD offerred to show him... and added 4 pinball parts websites in the guy's computer favourites. I think he was happy.. it was a fun talking but obviously, we were not the type of clients they are looking for

Next stop: Laurentien bowling alley on Jean-Talon.
We walk in and notice the pins: Elvis, SW:EP1 (sweet always wanted to try it), Harley Davidson (Sega), High Roller Casino (Yawn) and RFM (cool maybe its working..).
Elvis: unplayable, DMD is dead and the right back leveller was screwed all the way in, so the head of the game was completely resting on top of the SW:EP1 cab WTF ? Right leg was about 1 or 2 inches shorter than the right one ??? Congrats on whoever set the games up...
SW:EP1: The monitor was dead

Game was on but nothing to see on the monitor (actually it was showing some very minor pixels, impossible to see anything). A dry rubber was causing a mess in the right outlane, it was getting torn appart and the mess was all around. Played a game anyway just to get a feel of it, but without monitor, it kinda ruins it...
Harley Davidson: Was pretty fucked up in front of the bike, missing posts on both sides and the ball could hit the opto boards directly cause there was no rubbers or posts to protect them anymore heh. Lots of burned lights.. bleh..
RFM: FINALLY a working PB2000 monitor.. god those are problematic apparently. Game played well enough, we had a few games on it. There was a ball stucked EXACTLY at the same place we stucked one at Pinocchio.... But the ops are not dumb at Laurentien... ball missing, what could we do ? THEY ADDED ANOTHER BALL !! They left the ball over there (maybe it was stucking there too often, lets just leave it as-is, it will work as good as putting a new plastic..). Funny.
Not worth going imo, all games are fucked.
Then we remembered Amusement 2000 in St-Thérèse had a nice LOTR and TSPP a while ago so we headed there. SURPRISE, they have NO pins anymore

Other that the Triplex, we were clueless where else to play pinball in Montreal and headed back here. WOW, my games are NICE and PLAYS WELL !! At least that helped me realize that. So we played here instead after all, all working and clean games, cant beat that !
Sorry for my long post, but where the hell can we play WORKING pinball machines in Montreal other than at the Triplex ? I hope this post help you spare your time if you were planning to go at these places.
