What is the best lubricant brand available locally for use on a stepper unit?

The guys at The Source are no help at all!

Resist the urge for rude suggestions please... I'm a family man.

The only lubricant needed is Teflon based lube (that Radio Shack used to sell), or simple #10 oil, or Williams CoinOp Lube. Personally I like the Teflon Lube Gel. It's available from precisionreloading.com/superlube.htm and pinrestore.com as "Super Lube". Get the 3oz gel tube. This stuff is the best EM lubricant and the only EM lubricant you will need.

Good advice from Mr.Hide.

'Resist the urge' to lubricate any EM part or contact
with WD-40 !

Many jukes and EM pinballs have problems now because
cams, pawls, ratchets, pivots, etc. are gummed-up from
prior use of WD-40 without using any real lubricant after.
After a few weeks, months or years, that stuff evaporates
and leaves a residue (some kind of a gum) that causes
moving parts to no longer move freely.

I still have some of that Williams EM lube in a small
tube (purchased many years ago from Steve Young/
The Pinball Resource; I think he had no more of that
stuff recently).

Use sparingly !  Too much oil will cause more problems
than solve anything.

Good luck !

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Do not try to go to the Source (what Radio Shack is called now),,, they no longer carry it. I went looking when I got my Action Baseball pitch and bat... it is all that it needs.

Retiring soon...

I know it's not local, but I've sparingly used THIS with success.

Super Lube is the best, it comes in a viscous lube (various sized tubes) and a spray (best for the stepper unit because it gives a very light application).  it is available at Home Hardware, I think Canadian Tire, just about any RC Hobby Shop and every commercial supply shop.
