Need to swap the header for the lower backbox GI for a machine. What is the easiest/safest way to remove the old header? Do I need to mount the new header elevated off the board in order to solder the plated thru holes on both sides? That wouldnt ve very strong would it?

I use flush cutters to (carefully) sever the plastic between each pin. This way, the pins can be individually desoldered and removed.

It should not be necessary to solder the top side.

Playable Now: Centaur II, Doctor Who, High Speed. Playable Soon: Breakshot, Sorcerer Later: Flash, Genie, Seawitch Fondly remembered: Firepower
