The sore arm is a small price to pay.IMO. The pain in my arm lasted a couple of days. My whole family has had the shots (wife + 2 kids) and other than the sore arm(s) there have been no other side effects.
On another note, a buddy of mine (he is in early 30's) who is as healthy as a horse contracted H1N1. At first it started out with the same old symptoms as the regular flu. After about a week or so he was not improving and in fact his symptoms got worse. He was having difficulty catching his breath to the point where he couldn't even get up a set of stairs so he went to the ER. They told him he had H1N1 (duh?). They gave hi Tamiflu and sent him home. After a couple of more days, things did not improve. He started vomitting blood so he went back to the ER. They did blood work and took an x-ray. He had spots on his lungs and his white cell count was way out of whack. They told him he either had pneumonia or cancer(wow-that's scary). They put him on antibiotics and told him again that if things did not improve within 48hrs to come back to the ER right away. Luckily for him the meds started to clear things up. He is going to follow up with his family doctor to clear up the whole cancer diagnosis thing. As I said he was as healthy as a horse before he got it. Very scary.
