Not listed in the 2009 Mr.Pinball (nor the similar theme/era Bally Rapid Fire). Nor in Larry Bieza's 7th ed. older Pinball Price Guide. Probably because Hyperball (and Rapid Fire) are not real pinball machines, they are more of a shooter arcade novelty.
I have seen Hyperball & Rapid Fire machines ranging from $100 to $700 or so in the last few years, depending on conditions.
Cheers, - Sylvain. |
| Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome! |

How much did you pay for yours Necro?
I paid $200 for a project. But but but.... Cosmetically with the exception of the backglass, pf glass and legs it cleaned up very nicely. I will be hunting for a new backglass since everything else is very nice. I put in a new pf glass and plan for brand new legs (I have new ones on it but they are the wrong type for that age of machine). Having said that all the displays are in the process of being changed with the exception of the pf alphanumeric which is perfect. The components alone in the boards are in the the range of $100+ (lost count, don't care) and yes I am talking individual IC's etc. which is a ridiculous number of components, but some are scarce and pricey. I put display replacement at $150. Legs at about $75. BG at ?. pf glass I think was around $55. Uncounted hours..... priceless I am sure I have glossed over many other items that I just wish to neglect thinking about. If I get the BG I am certain it will be one of the finest around. A real time capsule machine but what it took to really turn the clock back was ridiculous for HB. I don't know what I would ever sell it for but in my mind $350 US would not take what I will have to offer in the end. I would rather fold it up and know that I own it than to go that low. If I were you I would snap up Eds in a heartbeat since you seem not to mind the mileage. The one that went on here for $400 was a good deal and I tried to acquire it. Without seeing it first hand I can't really comment but I hazard to guess it probably would not live up to what I am in the process of building in the end unless it was damn near HUO. In the end the game is worth more to me than the market is willing to offer which is video game prices. This ain't no video game and in my view not understood or appreciated for what it is, a unique piece of pin history at a very unique time. Ritchie wanted to build a vid and even was a conceptual contributor to Defender (not surprising given the fast and unrelenting pace of the game) but was still required to design pins. HB in my view was his attempt to marry the two at that crucial time. You want variety in your collection, put a HB in. For the prices you can't lose. After all it is fun to play but you have to be able to instinctive shoot which would have taken more quarters than a football team at a laundry mat to get onto. My issue is space and that may be the only reason to make a rational decision to sell it, but right now it's not looking that way, hence I keep dumping more into my machine. I like em nice and I don't mind spending the bucks to make them that way. Ed's was available as of 4:07 PM yesterday. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_thread/thread/ce00c30cb8d366f9 |

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to deal with Ed. I've never met him in person, but he's well known in the RGP community and I've found him easy to deal with online when I've asked him for help. |
