I was going to bring a machine from Ottawa, but my hearse broke down today. The kicker is I was going to deliver said machine after the show to a friend of mine and pick up a new pin at the show. Curse my luck! Anyone ever get a pinball machine into a vw Jetta before?

Thanks Adam for posting this!

Yes, please bring games, the more the merrier! Free entry if you bring a game!

BUT we need you to REGISTER what you are bringing with Mike Hanley - this way we can avoid duplicates and make sure we have enough room for everybody.

Also its best to avoid bringing in games during show hours if possible to avoid mishaps with all the people there. We have Friday evening to move in plus 8am-10am Sat & Sun.

Let me know if you have any questions - email Mike mike@torontopinballshow.com to register your game.

See you there!

Thanks,

Nick Angel

Do other shows like this have assistance in place to bring in free play machines?  Coming in from outside of the GTA is a little more difficult, but within the area, it'd be great to have a show truck for the weekend that we can use to get free play machines in and out of people's houses.  Ideally, if we had somewhere to stage things for a while (near the international centre or at Mike's warehouse), we could move machines in the evenings of the weeks before and after the show.  My thought would be to set up a schedule where we can hit 3 or 4 houses in a loop, and grab a bunch of machines in an evening, and then do the reverse after the show to put everything back.

Generally speaking no.

the only other shows like this are in the US and pretty much all the games provided are by collectors like us who bring a game or two just to make the show a little bit better.

Now arguably like anything the hobby is much larger in the US then it is here in Canada so the amount of people bringing games will of course be smaller.  But like I said it's still important, and yes it can be an inconvenience, but you have to ask yourself.

Do you want this show to do well so it can continue and we can have a show here in Canada or do you want to have to travel to the US every time you want to get your pinball show fix?

This would be handy for the GTA. Naturally, a cost per machine should be incurred for this convenience as some of the 'free-play' machines delivered will likely be for sale. I would be interested as I can only bring one pin at a time. But I suppose the same cost would be better applied to the cost of installing a hitch and trailer rental. Hmmm, the more I think about it, it's almost silly to collect arcade machines without the means to move a few of them at a time.

Ferget it.

My question is...that International center is a huge place. So lets say I have my pin in my truck, parked outside the center...how does it get moved to its place inside? I know from other convention shows I've worked at...not pinball...when you setting up, heck, you can just drive in wherever you need to go. If thats not the case, will they have dollies there for moving pins inside the building? I have my own dolly but really, my truck holds one pin and maybe the dolly if I cram her in...and shes a heavy pin dolly. I'd rather leave it at home

I'm not really sure of that myself, I'll have my dolly there to move in my games so if someone needs to borrow it that's fine.

Like I posted earlier what is the logistics plan?

Pinballs and video games are heavy, need to be protected from the environment and are cumbersome to move around.

If this information were clearly posted, I believe the support to the show would improve.
