Now I know this news piece is about a new pinball museum in Great Britain but I thought it would be pertinent considering that GJD and the MAACA community have had plenty of discussions about a museum in the Toronto area. What I gather is that more museums are coming to life which is a positive thing for our hobby. It may mean that a small resurgence is taking place and pinball is coming back to life, slowly but surely.
The article also gives us something to explore and compare to when the times comes for the Canadian version. The pinball news is a free newsletter if you have not already heard about it. Enjoy!

Our newsdesk brings you details of a new pinball museum which opened
recently in the UK.  Located in Ramsgate in the south-east corner of the
country, The Pinball Parlour is the work of Peter Heath and Pinball Geoff
who have set up 27 pinball machines, several bowlers, shooting games and
a novelty penny arcade in their new premises.  We paid them a visit to
find out the details.

I think you are right insofar as a resurgence of pinball, and to some extent the arcade as well. There is just something about the atmosphere of an arcade, with of lots of machines, and people around who are transfixed by them, that is all but gone today. They are sprouting up all over the US, and Europe, and are even enjoying some commercial success. I guess there is a feeling that just can't be replicated, even in a home arcade with all the machines you want, a mame machine, or a home system. I equate it with a nostalgic feeling, and in my case, as close as you could get to a time machine. Those were great days and seeming they brought back the music, the clothes, the tv shows, the movies( Have they ever made a decent remake of anything, or just butchered every single one?), and even the cars. So to bring back the arcade, in a newer, improved form, be it flat fee based, or a combination of very old games and home systems, seems like the right idea. I really appreciate all the references that people provide, the conversations I have with many of you, and the positive comments, they are very helpful, you will never know how much they mean to me, and eventually you will be repaid in the form of a museum that will be essentially an extension of the forum in the physical form. Thanks again for this interesting story, more fuel to the fire for me personally.
