Just thought I'd share in my delight..... Purolator was Santa and I got exactly what I wanted! Seeing as I'm at work right now, I can't really take too many pics so I'll snap a few more tonight of BOTH of the PF's (yes, I ordered 2) and post back.
Un-dimpled and un-drilled. Start the clock, I estimate 20 - 30 hrs to get it done.
Yup, that's what I figure. The drilling won't be that bad as it's not too many holes. But the dimpling...... that'll be the challenge! (but that's the fun of doing full resto's!)
I'm sure you have everything pretty much covered already for this. I would be curious to hear your technique for the dimpling ... But for those not aware of the level of work involved in Drilling and dimpling take a look at Chris' site.

Actually, these PF's are in the exact same state (drilled and dimpled) as they were when shipped to WMS. It was WMS responsibility to dimple and drill each PF.
Now that's not to say I wouldn't prefer to have these drilled, dimpled and T-nutted! But given the choice between these and nothing, I think the choice is obvious.

That's what I assumed, since most NOS pf's out there are not drlled, dimpled and t-nutted. I was wondering why that was done that way, and why it is still the case with the repro market (current exception being the AFM repro). But I suppose this is a better question to ask the people making them.
Too bad they dont have a "ready to install" pf option at extra cost.
Those pictures are sweet!

Mani, I agree. Not having them dimpled etc... and ready for a playfield swap can scare away many potential customers. I am just lucky that I have found someone who can do this for me at a reasonable cost.
Too bad CPR didnt do it, they have it all ready to go for $500. But then again, I wouldnt expect any 90's playfields out of CPR for quite awhile.
So whats the verdict on the quality of the repros. Obviously they are nice but are there any glaring flaws or poor color matches. Just curious. The wood grain looks very different compared between the two.
Had I been a FH owner at the time of the pre-sale I probably would have picked one up. Maybe never installed it; but would look at the crazing and mylar bubling a little less intently on my current PF knowing I could swap it out with a perfect one any time.

None of the PF's are 100% perfect, repro or NOS. I will say that the quality of these repro's are very good. Colours are excellent, and the detail is just as good as the original. Clear is nice too, not too thick and pretty flat.
What you will find on some of these repro's is the registrations will be different from PF to PF. On one of these, the small black rings in the yellow ribbon near the left sling are just a tad off. But unless you were right on top of the PF with your nose only a few inches from the PF, you'll never notice it. You certainly will not notice any of this from the players perspective it's that slight. Beyond that, everything else looks really nice. A MUCH better effor than the TAF PF's that IPB did. All in all, these are WAY nicer than any used original PF you'll find and cheaper than having the old PF touched and cleared so I'm happy.
I will also say that there are 3 other PF's currently in the works @ IPB. One is totally completed, one is almost completed and the 3rd is going to start soon. The first two are from older machines and the 3rd is a WPC. The 2nd PF that is almost done will be the first PF to be dimpled from the factory and the WPC PF is ultimately going to be drilled and dimpled. At least that is IPB's goal, and they are learning as they go. Baby steps right? From what I've heard about the next PF, it's turned out even nicer than FH. (confirmed by a hardcore pinhead local to IPB)
