Hi everyone,

I just sold my fully working AP to a fellow in Oakville and I guess when he got it home and turned it on the flippers wern't working. I had him reseat the connectors we had apart for transport, to no avail. I feel bad because he bought this for his boys for X-mas and it is only a couple of day's away now. The new buyer has no skills at all with pinballs and I can't really help him out too much over phone. I am in Windsor and won't be able to make the ride there in time. If anyone is in the area with some knowledge on system 6 games and can check this out it would be greatly appreciated. Or any contacts to repair guy's in the Oakville area would be great. I have to believe it is something simply lossened up as this game has worked flawlessly from when I bought it from Jim, a year ago. If you can help out let me know and I will send you his phone number. Thanks.

Troy

Troy,

Have you had the person check the various tilt mechs (ball incline, pendulum, etc.) ?
Quite a common occurence after moving a machine. Tilt disables flippers.

Good luck (sorry I am too far to help in person too, but hopefully this hint here may help).

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Yep Alien Poker. Hi Sylvain, thanks for the tip but there was no pendulum in this game, so does that rule out ball incline as well?

Quoted from troyb
there was no pendulum in this game, so does that rule out ball incline as well?

No, they are separate, often connected in parallel, and usually located in the same area.
Now, if the ball is missing in the incline tilt, then this is probably not the problem.

In fact, if the ball does not eject at game start, then it appears that there is a solenoid voltage or fuse issue then.
Or the dreaded 40-pin MPU to driver interconnect issue ??

Good luck !
Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Hi
I'm the newbie in Oakville who is having the trouble getting Alien Poker up and running.
It was running perfectly when troyb demonstrated it to me before purchase.

I actually remade the connections wrong. I had thought that the headboard connectors would only have 1 matching counterpart in the body to connect to, but I was wrong.

I would like to thank those that tried to help with this issue. I see that I am in for a leaning curve with this machine.

All is now working as it should, except for one of the "card" solenoids (the king card that pops up and down) is not working. I have examined the wires and they all seem to be attached just like the other four cards. So if anyone has any suggestions about this I would greatly appreciate.

Thanks again
