I just look at revenge from mars on youtube and wow it looks and seams to be a real good game, star war episode 1 looks good too. We do not see a lot of those pinball 2000. Are they reliable ? Most importantly are they affordable ? |

Wow... have you not been following this board... ? Pin2K gets discussed regularly. Here are the "highlights" : - Pin2K : Loved by many, hated by others ( State-of-Art Vs. video atrocity ) - RFM is more liked than SW EP.1 - RFM is "easier" than SW EP.1, but alot funnier with great video and sound bites - SW Ep.1 is actually a "deeper" game, but never got any love - Would get repetitive if it's your only game. But VERY popular in a collection - Absolutely BRILLIANT maintenance design. Easiest pin to troubleshoot and fix - Expensive to replace CPU and components. NUCORE is a great alternative but still about $800 Going rate is $2400-2800CDN for a clean game with good cosmetics. Can be had cheaper ($2000) if routed. Quite popular on MAACA, with several people wanting to buy one. I estimate there are probably well over 10 members here which own one. (... I have an nice RFM with NIB SW Ep.1 conversion PF kit ) Personally, I think it's an awesome game, under-priced in my opinion, and a definite keeper in my collection... Cheers, Steph |

I have a SWE1 which I just finished shopping this week. It works 100% and I can say that most I have tried do not so I never had the full impression of it. It is really fun and of my 8 working games it is by far the most popular with my 11 year old and my wife.
Again, not a good choice if you only have 1 or 2 games, but it has a lot to offer once you start to get a bit better at it and get to conquer all 13 video modes. A lesser player will never even see some of the modes.
It was the last game made by WMS so I think for that reason a really mint one will have lasting value. In my opinion WMS made the best games overall. This is the height of their technology in pinball. Hasn't appreciated like MM or ToTAN or any of the last WMS games but eventually it probably will.

I love my RFM. It was easy to restore, since almost all the parts are still available. I capped my monitor and added the UFO MOD kit.
Overall I really enjoy playing it, however as everyone says, it can get boring if it's your only pin (as with any pin I figure).
PRO's:
-Very Fun -Comical -Affiliated with AFM -Lots or parts -NEW CPU now available (if you ever need one) This was the main complaint about buying one of these in the past.. if the CPU went it was hard to find a new one, and if you could, it was WAY expensive! That is no longer the case. -MOD's available -Great sound system -shorter body design so it fits in tighter spaces (which is great when trying to fit in that last pin) -Very original and offers variety to any collection (not just another pin!) -You can get them from the States for a reasonable price (currently) -can convert game to SWE1 (if you really wanted to - but I don't know why anyone would) -Kids absolutely LOVE this game -Has it's own movie about the history and making of the game. -Can get autographed plastics from George Gomez!!!! cool addition to any game.
Cons -VERY HEAVY (but it comes apart int 3 pieces so it's not that bad) -shorter playfield -power switch is way at the back side (a pain in the a**!) -hard to find new glass (this is special tinted glass) -I don't like the way the lock-down bar works (personal peeve) -has gone up in price ever since necore came out -Is getting harder to find one in decent shape (In my opinion) -game can be repetitive, but allows you to pick from any of the 6 modes to start from (which lends to some variety) -Difficult to be Really Good at it. (I have yet to beat Mars)
Thats my $0.02
Hope you pick one up.

The game is unique, fun, very visual and perhaps will some day be viewed as more significant to the history of Williams and pinball in general than even Cactus Canyon. |

I would trade you mine for a TZ or MM since your offering. (I figure as a collector I am forced to get a TZ eventually)
