I would like to address all English speaking MAACA members currently living in the GMA (and ex-Montrealers living in other parts of the country) who remember the arcades on Ste.Cathrine street owned and operated by Karum Amusements from approx. 1978-1997. CRYSTAL PALACE, corner Crescent INTERNATIONAL, near Bishop AMUSEMENTS, somewhere east of those, if memory serves. These arcades were all quite large and had a flashy sort of Casino like atmosphere. I am searching for stories, pictures, ancedotes and any other memories you may have which have to do with Montreal and the coin operated amusement industry in general. Specifically I am looking for your stories, how you felt and what struck you in and through those moments when you realized that this was going to be part of your lives. Your stories and/or ancedotes will be added to a collective memory bank I am attempting to assemble. If you prefer writing a full story of your own, they will submitted as is to the webmaster who will edit them before publication and credit the story to your name in the stories section of the Montreal Pinball website. (these stories can be about anything having to do with Montreal and pinball machines) I have already asked the French speaking MAACA members for their stories in a thread called VOS SOUVENIRS in the Section Française and will create a compilation of their memories, but I need more content. Consider it your contribution to the history of the games and our city. If you'd like to participate, you can contact me through this thread, a PM, or if you prefer via the website : http://www.montrealpinball.comThanks in advance, Robert A. Baraké |
