My new  T2 seems to want to shoot more balls than it should onto the playfield.  You'll be playin' like normal and outta nowhere Arnie does his "Don't Move!" quote which he normally says when you drain quickly and it autosaves the ball for you. Then a second ball shoots onto the playfield when there should only be one.

The swicthes under the ball trough all seem to work fine when I tested them with my finger in the single switch test.  I tried shutting off "consolation ball"  but it kept happening.  Seems to be random and does not happen on every ball, but it does often happen once a game.

Ideas/suggestions?

remove apron and test with a ball to make sure they all work.

double check wiring to those switches as vibration is probably causing the issue... resoldering them might be good prevention

You have a trough issue. Not sure if you have mechanical or optical switches there, but something is intermittent and causing it to eject another ball.

As suggested, remove the apron and test each position. If they are optical switches, clean the LED's if there is pinball dust on them and also make sure one of the legs is not broken on either the transmitter or receiver and making partial contact. I had that once and it took me a while to figure out.

Thanks guys.  Will take that apron off tonight and take a look.  I think Terminator is pre-opto switches for the ball trough though isn't it?

Took off the apron as instructed.  All three switches worked perfectly with balls installed or removed.  The outhole switch also worked with a ball.

Someone on RGP suggested the ball kicker might be hitting the first switch but that wasn't it either.

I've only got the L-3 Rom, dunno if upgrading would make a difference.

Any more suggestions?  It's 2:30am and my brain officially stopped.

Fixed it last night.  Turns out my ball kicker was holding up balls #2 and #3 from rolling immediately after #1 was ejected.  Combination of having a ball on the playfield while the #3 switch was still down 'caused the machine to think there were 3 balls in the trough so it ejected one.  Adjusted the spring underneath and she's working perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, very much appreciated.

I'm having the exact same problem with my game now so I'll have to look for this, some just bumping it for myself.
