Yeah pretty crazy .. was walking back to work from lunch on St-Laurent / Sherbrooke watching the police cars and ambulance whiz by just prior to 1:00.
Was supposed to meet JD this afternoon in that area ... Just glad to hear he is safe at home now.
My thoughts go out to the people affected by this senseless violence.
Hope Everyone has a safe return home. |

Echoes of Columbine, and Ecole Polytechnique before that.
Reports are erratic but it seems to be a co-ordinated effort by 2,3, or 4 people.
What motivates people do to do that ? It's just so damn senseless.
I'm not sure what would be worse ; terrorist motives or disgruntled youth...
Tragic either way.
No word of any actual fatalities (that I've heard of yet...), so let's hope everybody makes it out OK.

Latest report suggests 4 dead.
I work at UWO and people around here are pretty shaken by this event as well. |

Horrible, shocking event. I am glad that John is safe. Didn't hear about it here until an hour ago because I was working in a garage. Called John right away and was relieved to hear him pick up the phone Details on TV right now are all over the place about what happened exactly, who is hurt/dead. Hope that everyone got out okay BZM |

Latest news at this time states the shooter is dead and 1 student has died with 19 more in hospital. My 16 year old daughter was on the same floor about 50 feet away from where the shooter was (but didn't actually see him). She heard shots and saw several of the students first hand who had been shot. These memories will be with her forever. She luckily got out by an emergency escape exit. We are counting our blessings this evening.
As a parent, let me just say it seemed an eternity between the time of hearing the news of the event, and hearing her voice that she was OK. Her cell phone was off at the time I tried to call her and when she tried to call me afterwards, all the connections/lines were overloaded due to everyone calling family members at the same time.
The whole thing just seems so surrealistic.

My Wife and daughter were just around the corner at the Childrens last week. I would have been in total panic mode if it was today...eeeeek.
I was listening to talk radio at work and all they talked about was that as soon as it started and all I could think about was is my buddy ok? Glad your ok JD. REALLY GLAD.
