That is sweet looking bike. But I look at it and dont think i could be comfterball.
Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.
Cool bike, that purple one was sweet too! I've been keeping my eyes open for a really nice HUTCH Trick Star on and off without much luck locally... got a bit of a soft spot for those. Anyone else into the American made Hutch bikes of that era? I wish Timmy Horton's was giving NOS Hutch's away under their rims!
This is the best Frenglish I've ever seen, ever! Ethous, you crack me up!

I always wanted a 1969 Schwinn Apple Krate or even better Grape Krate when I was a kid. Nothing better when your a kid than the frame mounted shifter to rip your testicles off when your trying to do an Evel Knievel.
They remade it a few years back before Schwinn left the states and went to China. I was really seriously thinking of buying one for my son but the price was astronomical for a bike I knew he would beat the crap out of. I was fortunate enough to buy my cruiser which I still have that was made in Boulder. It is a much better bike than what now looks the same but is built in China. Smooth and quiet. I picked up one later that was built in China for my Dad and it wasn't nearly as nice a bike.

Yup... my first big bike was a 70's metalflake-blue "Drag Stripper". Same bike as on the included pic, but just blue. I had that bike for years until I completely wore out the shifter unit and the shaft between the 2 pedals broke and the pedals just dropped. Man, I beat that thing to hell. I still remember popping sweet wheelies with it... and yes, impaling myself on the shifter!

Schwinn still makes some variations of them minus the shifter. I particularly like the springer front ends. My son ended up with the last version of the Stingray which he uses more as a toy then his serious bike. He got one of the early release ones that still had all the goodies like the foot pegs and chrome frame. Again the f'ers cheapened the bike after initial release and dropped the chrome chassis and many of the accessories. It looks like this without the engine.
yep, i use to have frankenbikes. with 10 kids in the family we never got anything new. but boy could my mom weild. she put together a couple of bike frames and extended the front forks twoflod. think it was almost eight feet long. nothing as nice as the new coppers they make. but for its time period, no one else had one (that long).
