they were taking pre-orders for Iron Man at $4200US.

The show was worse the the buffalo show - not bad, just not as good.  Had about 35-40 pins and 20-30 vids.  2-3 parts vendors, a few related gamesroom retails, and that was about it.

I was able to play a number of machines I had only heard of, so I enjoyed myself.

Saw a couple Maaca members down there on Saturday.

The guy from Illinois Pinball was there (Gene I think?)  What a grumpy old coote!

Bought about $150 in new LEDs, and some chrome balls, but other then that it was just playing the machines.

The Reproduction KISS playfields at Illinios pinball looked REALLY NICE!!!!

If you didn't go - you didn't miss anything.

One thing that was REALLY COOL, was the discovery of a little beach-side resort community called Sea Side at the north end of Rochester.  They have a small theme park about twice the size of Centerville, with rides appropriate for ages 4-14.  A really cool little spot.  Thought I was in New Jersey for a sec there.  I recommend it if you need a new place to visit.

Gene Cunningham is grumpy, absolutely.

Wouldn't you be if you had bought all the Bally\Williams pinball parts departments when they liquidated those divisions in 2001. It took him years to sort all that out, ask Mike Hanley - he went down there to try and help and said that Gene didn't seem to have any idea how to get those endless boxes of N.O.S. parts sorted out, or where to start.

Even Steve Young tried to get Gene to set up his operation properly and even that didn't help at the beginning.

I don't mind Gene at all. He's just a nice old fella', kinda reminds me of somebody's grandfather, or father.

Business on the other hand is another deal altogether, I've found the pricing to depend on Gene's mood that day, maybe he was not in the best mood on Saturday. I still bought some stuff from him anyway.... he definately remembers the faces of the people who talk to him regularly at the shows.

Once you know Gene, he's a good guy... grumpy, yes... but a good guy.
His prices are kinda high (depending on his mood) but then again, he's running a business... and had to drag all of his stuff down to the show.

I enjoyed the show...  that "store" that they were in would have made an awesome arcade, and I picked up some deals too.

Davester.
