My first pin, follows someone's signature here of the "best part of this hobby is getting rid of the first pin you ever bought...".

Its a conversion kit pinball of the Evel Knieval (http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=4986).   I paid far too much ($600) and will likely never get that money back.   The machine is fully working - but has the worlds worst backglass / artwork.

I do have a Bobby Orr Power Play though based on the same system.

I'm looking for advice, should I just salvage all the worthwhile parts (MPU, power supply, coindoor, etc) as they are common - and keep them just-in-case for the BOPP?

If a working Gottlieb Pinball Pool isn't selling for $300 - it doesn't seem like I could ask for more from a conversion kit.

To me the answer's simple - disassemble and keep the parts that can be used on BOPP.   As parts it seems to be worth something - if people pay what I'm seeing on the web for MPU, power supply, driver boards, coin door, chime unit (missing a chime I believe), legs & plastics.

Anyone have any use for some Evel Knieval plastics?

After that, do I just have fun - and practice mylar removal without caring about the results?

The cabinet/backglass would be garbage?

Thanks,
Doug.

Well, there was someone on Mr.Pinball Classifieds recently looking for two out of the four
Canadian-originated (apparently) Professional pinball conversions....

I would recommend against parting that machine (I owned one of these 15 years ago).
Still fun to play for most families who are not into the collecting hobby/disease as we are.
You should be able to recoup most of your money by advertizing it on external classifieds including
UsedOttawa, Kijiji, or a local paper... providing the machine is clean, fully shopped and reliable...

Good luck !

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron,
1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others.
Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for
one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

Yeah - thanks Sylvain.   You read the question I was trying to ask.   Is it "bad for the hobby" to trash a perfectly working game, even though its the ugliest thing I have ever seen

One man's junk (or ugly) is another man's treasure (or art).  Think of all those people who like BayWatch, and Genesis backglass/tanslite art (I like the latter so I guess there's no accounting for taste).  But you're right "The Professional" (first time I've seen it) does seem a little lame. Can you put a face phot behind the mask and personalize the pinball even further?  That could be a selling feature, even as a gag gift for someone with some cash.

I actually like the artwork.  I think the red palm trees are interesting..  I will trade you a project game that you can part out if you're interested.

Pins: Pinbot, Silverball Mania, Night Rider (SS).

It took Phil awhile to figure this one out. He thought he was the chick in the red bikini the first few times he played it.

Awesome - sorry I had it wrong on the price.   I think Pinball Pool is far more cosmetically appealing than The Professional.
