Just curious I see this desciption coming up more and more on the classified's from Mr. Pinball .. my question is just what makes a pinball tech certified ? I'm definitely not any type of tech myself but I wasn't aware of any general cerification process.

I think it was Centenial College here in Toronto that used to offer a course specifically for repairing pinball and video games. Maybe by taking this course you could consider yourself "certified"?

Or maybe it's a Stern Certification?
The machines that I seen listed haven't been Stern's (not that I noticed anyways) Squid |

A wise man once told me that if you can fix a pinball machine in any sort of way, you're a technician. "The only thing that separates you from any other monkey," he said, "is that you can read the manual." So I guess if you've ever put solder to circuit board and done more than just wreck it, you're a tech. I think it goes without saying, of course, that some techs are better than others. And the term 'technician' gets way more use than is warranted. |

The criteria was that if you repaired five pins and only two caught on fire you passed and could consider yourself a certified technician. Otherwise you would have to repeat the exam |
