[ NB : I realize this might not be of great interest to many,
but for those who need to buy old Bi-polar Proms as found in many old vids,
this could be of interest to some... ]
--
With the demise of Arcadechips.com the supply of old bi-polar proms (82s123, s129, s137, etc..)
dried-up pretty quickly.
After looking for a new supplier for awhile,
I finally found a source that would be willing to sell at a "reasonable" price,
... providing I buy lots of 500+ chips....
Given the increasing scarcity of these chips,
I'm thinking there is a decent market for these,
and maybe I should consider expanding my little eprom biz into selling these .
[NB. I sell programmed ones already, but now i'm thinking of selling blanks too ]
ArcadeChips.com sold most proms for about $3 each,
the next cheapest price now is Bob Roberts at $7.50 each.
(... and I've seen some for $9ea and even $15 each ... )
http://homearcade.org/BBBB/parts.html#ramshttp://www.arcadecomponents.com/catalog/item/3409103/2996163.htmhttp://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi.....mp;subcategory=PROMsSo I was thinking of a $5 price point with 10% discount for orders over 10 chips.
This INCLUDES shipping !
Does this sound reasonable, ..or am I going to get reamed by the various NewsGroups ?
Supply "is" shrinking, and given the problems I had in finding these,
I don't think my proposed price is out-of-line.
(...and if it makes any difference, my cost to purchase them would be $2.25-$2.50 for volumes of 500+ )
Let me know what you guys think...
Thanks,
Steph
