Does anyone have some extra demo man handles laying around or know where I can get some? The ones on my machine, while perfectly fine, have been used quite a bit and where your hands wrap around, the chrome wore off. I'd like to put new ones on or used but nice ones on there.
I'm talking about the flipper button handles that you can use instead of the standard flipper buttons.

Yeah, if you can snag BOTH handles for under $80 that's the route to go no question. I spent a long time getting quotes to re-plate my T2 shooter, and just for one piece it was close to $200.
I contacted the owner of BAA and they only have 4 RH handles left, no LH handles. They should sell those in packages rather than separately IMO. He said they probably will never get anymore in so I have to find one somewhere else. I ordered a RH handle (while i still can).

I know plating doesn't seem the cheapest way in many cases but I have found the plate job that you get from a re-plater to be far superior to factory plating in most cases. I'm sure if these things had a good plate job from day one, you wouldn't have been looking at doing this.
That can't be right, it cost me $100 to ship my playfield, and that was with tracking and $1000 in insurance. The playfield was crated in a woden box that weighed 60 lbs at the end of the day.
I can't see how a small little handle is $175, must be like overnight shipping or something.
They said 175.00USD PLUS shipping. lol So they want 175 USD just to chrome the little bitty handles.
I think that's ridiculous anyways. The control handles are small. I don't really see why it's 175 bucks. I was thinking 100 AT THE MOST. F it, I'll just keep looking for the LH handle or just live with it.

Yeah. YOu know, I rethought selling my T-2. I put too much effort and time into these machines that I get (even though I'm new, yes, but still it's a pride thing) to just sell them and take big hits on them. I can see myself almost never getting rid of anything I buy unless i just don't like it, in which case I probably won't take the time/money to fix it up completely lol.
I bought the JD for 1100 and probably put 600USD into it to get it running like a champ and looking real nice (including eagle topper and deadworld mod kit). I'm not about to sell it for 1300 bucks, same with the T-2. It was my first machine and yeah I overpaid for it a little, but it looks beautiful and I am falling back inlove with it. I think eventually i'm going to hook them all up with sound upgrade kits and just keep them in tip top, until i have 20 machines and no longer have the space, then sell what i don'tw ant. At that point it'll be long forgotten what i paid to restore them lol.
Yeah i figured I could find someone local and hopefully get them done for a fraction. 175.00 sounds absurd for little controller handles. I ain't a chrome specialist though so who knows. Just seems retarded to me.

My friend builds little armatures for stop motion puppet animation and has them chrome plated for around 120 each. So 175 is not too out there for two pieces.
My suggestion is to leave them as is ... unless you are going to perfect the machine and keep it as you will never recoup the investment from redoing the handles
It's hard to recoup ANYTHING unless you get someone that doesn't know what they have.
Just found out yesterday that a guy at work, his father -in-law had a Star Wars DE. I asked if he wanted to sell it. Come to find out, since it didn't work, he just gave it away. I mean wtf? lol That's the ones you hope to find, maybe something minor, maybe 2-300 to get it working, and you got it for free.
The guy has 3 more pins and I'm waiting to find out what he has and if he wants to sell them. But I just know they all have DMD's so they aren't THAT OLD.
