Looking for a Super Chexx in good shape.  I had a deal going with another MAACA member for one, but the seller sold it to someone else while we were still negotiating, so I am still looking for one.

If you have one (or know of one), pm / email with price and details.

If you find two, give me a call.

I acutally considered building a replica..... still am considering.  There's a good manual online with photos of the guts.

Starburst coin machines on woodward drive in Ottawa have one placed at O'Connors pub.

Would you use ICE parts for it?  Seems like a lot of work, unless you were to do something different.

I thought that I would end up using the dome, net assemblies, scoreboard, players and gearboxes.  The rest should be reasonable to fabricate out of regulard hardware.

One real hang up on making a replica is, unlike mame and pinmame, I haven't seen any software hanging around.  It would be simple software just triggering sounds and keeping score, using prox sensors and some microswitches, but I don't write software a whole lot.

It would be a lot of work, but that's the fun of it.  I had more fun building my mame cab than I've had playing it.

Like I said, unless you were to do something radical, like create fans and stands and boards... it would be too much work.

If you keep looking, you will find one, one day.

Well I hope. Just lost out on a nice one today at the Starburst auction @ $1200 + tax.

I did wonder why there was water leaking out of it though, when it was tiled.

I meant "tilted", not tiled.

Oh ho ho! See, you guys are the idea people......

Heh.  would be a cool idea, but I'm sure not practical to implement.  You'd have to put them in the dome which makes them a puck surface or you'd have to put them out of the dome, which just takes up space.

If it's fun and not work, is it still too much work?

I guess along the lines of this thread and what Froskin said today at the meet, if you buy a parts donor, and are looking to get rid of that extra base, or the old tracks, or maybe the rods.... I'm a likely candidate.
