I played Shrek in Rochester and thought it was fantastic. My daughter would love it. I thought the green trim was well done and a nice change from the norm.
Ironically, Family Guy doesn't do anything for me at all. The art and humour is much more interesting on Shrek, IMHO.
Hey Medvet, or anyone with some playing time on Shrek, I heard a complaint that they got voice over actors to do the quotes that aren't direct movie quotes and that they don't sound quite right? Any experience with that?
Dave

Before I answer that, you should know that I think the people that complain about using voice actors on pinballs are being a little too anal retentive . I'd rather have pinball relative comments than movie snipits being attempted to fit to the game. I personally think that the Shrek voices are done well and there are a multitude of quotes especially by Donkey - he has quite a few Donkey-like quotes based on your playing ability of the mini playfield. I think they are good all around and I agree with Cooke - Family Guy does nothing for me except actual gameplay. Shrek is so much more!
Hope that helps ME By the way Dave, POTC is also voice actors and again the quality is fine just the lack of quotes is the issue with POTC. I honestly think that if the info wasn't released to the pinball public, most people wouldn't be able to tell actors vs voice actors honestly.
From what I've heard, that mode is still in Shrek, with Shrek doin' the fartin'

Are those the same idi... uh... people that complain that TZ sucks because it isn't Rod Serling that gave the voice samples?
I agree with ME... anally retentive is the best choice of words. It costs WAY less for a company to use voice actors. I hear that even using direct quotes from a movie can be legally expensive.
Besides... for Shrek... just imitate a cheezy Scottish accent. As for the other characters, any woman with a nice voice can fill in for Fiona, and pretty much any hyperactive moron can imitate Eddie Murphy...
Being as the thread is hijacked already from IJ4 to Shrek, I just want to mention a proud moment when my wife kicked a guys butt on Shrek @ Rochester. Nice to have a wife that likes pins - and can play, too. He left sheepishly He was a good sport - he spent the rest of the time kicking my butt on EBD
Jen loved Shrek too - but we don't own a bunch of other pins that are higher on our list before Shrek. One day...
