I need some advice, I am using a J-Pac with a Arcade VGA card.  I hooked it up and can't get a clear and controlled image.  The picture is way out of control, the v and h cannot be ajusted by the switch inside.  I can slow the movement of the picture a little bit but no way to get a straight image.  I can see the writing and xp logo in the backgroud.  I am using a wells arcade screen ad an old NFL Blitz 99 cabinet.  I tried putting in another video card (Geforce) and it does the same thing.  I would really appreciate some advice from someone.  I am really stuck.

most likely one of 2 things 1. adjusting the pots and dials, remember theres pots on the monitor board, 2.Using the wrong resolution for your desktop, download that little galaga icon (program) to adjust to a lower resolution http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainst.html, maybe 352x256 or something like that, which card are you using??

Thanks for the reply.  I am using the arcade VGA card from ultimarc.  I have two ajustement setting on the monitor motherboard, it says screen or focus, i have no idea if I can stick my fingers in there. I played with the circuit board on the side of the monitor that give me 6 options to adjust the v hold, h hold, contrast and others.   No success.  When i was building the mame computer, I could only put in a regular geforce video card to do the programming and setting up of windows and attached it to a regular 19 LCD inch screen.  When i transferred the machine to the cabinet, then i put in the arcade vga card. I see windows boot up and xp logo going crazy.   I tried putting in the arcade VGA card in the machine during the initial windows and mame configuration with the 19 inch LCD  and it kept going black telling me the resolution could not give me a picture.  I lowered the resolution to the minimum and still it didn't work.  I really hope all this makes sense.

I've never used an arcade vga card(just built in motherboard video) but I experienced the same problem when trying to get my mame machine to output video to a low res monitor.  My solution was to temporarily hook up a computer monitor, boot into windows, bring up the display properties dialoge box, click on settings, click on advanced, click on adapter, click on 'list all modes' at the bottom of that screen, choose a very low resolution like 640x480, 16 bit, 60 Hz and then my low res monitor worked.

hope this helps

You also have a 2 more white dials on the back of your monitor, one is looking directly at you next to the focus and another is a small white one face up on the board, did you get a AGP or a PCI card?? Go to the download section for arcade vga theres a program called quick res, it will show up as a galaga ico next to the time when installed, that will help you set your desktop at a lower res, read that page i sent you
